Your prayer has been heard, and we join our voices with yours in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and hope of salvation.

We hear your anguish, your fear of homelessness in the cold of winter, your tiredness and discouragement, and your honest struggle to hold onto faith while you wait. The Lord does not overlook this. He sees those who are poor in spirit and contrite in heart, those who tremble at His word, and He draws near to them. Even the Apostle Paul knew what it was to be in bonds and in want, and to wait for deliverance, yet he learned that God was with him there and moved the hearts of others to show mercy.

We pray with you for a miracle, as you have asked. We ask the Father in Jesus' name to provide for you a warm, quiet and private home where you can truly be at home and at rest, free from cigarette and vape smoke and from disturbance. We ask Him to open the way for a clear and timely decision regarding your supported self-employment, and to lift the burden of this long waiting. We ask Him to place alongside you a faithful person to support you and help you when you stumble, since you have said support services are limited and you cannot afford a doctor or counsellor, and many churches have grown weary. We ask the Lord to soften hearts around you and to raise up help from unexpected places, as He once moved a whole church to share in Paul's need, and to keep your faith from failing.

Winter is hard, and Christ Himself spoke of how hard it is to flee or suffer in winter, so He knows the added weight you feel in this season. Keep holding fast to Him. Do not let mercy and truth forsake you, and trust that He will not forsake you. Continue to seek Him daily, to pray even with few words when you are tired, and to remember that the Lord is at hand.

We will continue to pray for you, that God will give you shelter, peace, guidance, and companionship, and that He will strengthen you to endure and to hope until you see His provision. May He guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus and give you quietness and rest in His care. Amen.

Your honest prayer has been heard, and thank you for sharing so openly about the weight you are carrying. The fear of not having a safe place to live, especially as winter comes, the weariness and discouragement, the long wait for a decision about supported work, and the sense of stumbling without someone beside you are heavy burdens. It is understandable that faith feels stretched thin right now.

Scripture shows us where fear comes from and where its cure is found. Fear grows when our eyes are fixed on the threats around us, on the cold, on the lack of answers, on how limited help seems. Faith grows when our eyes are fixed on the Lord and we remember who He is and that He is with us. One of the psalms says, though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me. Another says, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. Greater is He who is with you than any hardship that is against you. When we forget the Lord, fear takes hold. When we remember Him, faith has room to breathe again. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time, and fear is a tool often used to discourage and paralyze. The call of God again and again is do not be afraid, remember the Lord.

That remembering is not just recalling an idea, it is a reverent awe before God, a desire to walk with Him, to love what He loves and turn from what He hates. That reverence is described as the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, the starting place and the sum of it. It puts life back in right perspective, that God is great, He is present, and He sees you.

God does not despise the affliction of the afflicted. When the afflicted cry out, He hears. The psalm says He has not hidden His face from him but when he cried to Him, He heard. In another place the prophet says, you drew near in the day that I called upon you and you said, fear not, you have pleaded the causes of my soul, you have redeemed my life. He sees the wrongs, He knows the lack of support, the coldness you have felt from others, the inability to afford care, and He is near to plead your cause.

There is also comfort in how Scripture speaks of winter storms. On a voyage to Rome, the apostle Paul and those sailing with him faced a season when sailing was no longer safe and they had to look for a secure harbor to wait out the winter. The storm that followed was so severe that all hope of being saved was lost, yet God had given a promise that Paul would bear witness in Rome, and that promise held him steady through wind and waves. When storms come and we are prone to despair and anxiety, we can rest on what God has said, that He is with us, that He will hide us in His shelter in the day of trouble, and that He will not leave us without His presence.

In times of discouragement and defeat, the way out is not to wallow in self pity but to lift our eyes off ourselves and our circumstances and onto the Lord. We may weep over our circumstances, but we are told to rejoice in the Lord, not in the circumstances. That shift does not remove the hardship, but it places the hardship in the hands of the One who can carry you through it.

I am praying with you in the name of Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You. You see the fear of homelessness and the cold of winter, the tiredness and discouragement, and the struggle to hold onto faith. I ask that You make Your presence known as comfort and strength, driving out fear and renewing faith. Provide a warm, quiet and private home, free from smoke and disturbance, a place where there is peace and the ability to truly be at home. Bring movement where there has been long waiting, give clear guidance for the final decision regarding supported self employment, and open the right doors in Your timing. Send alongside a faithful person to offer support so that stumbling becomes steady walking. Where human support is limited and help feels scarce, show Yourself as provider, whether through practical help, wise counsel, or provision for care. Let Your peace guard heart and mind, and let hope rise again as eyes are lifted to You. Amen.

Keep calling upon the Lord and remembering Him through His Word and prayer. He is with you in this valley, He hears your cry, and He is able to keep your foot from slipping and to be your confidence through this winter season.
