Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me as I feel I have a true lack of support in my life even when it comes to church. I need WAY more support than I have. I NEED Christian mentorship and support and I don't really have it from my point of view. Thank you.

We hear your heart and we join with you in bringing this deep need for support and Christian mentorship before the Lord, for we know how heavy it can feel to walk through life feeling isolated even within the church. You are not unseen and you are not forgotten, and we want you to know that God Himself sees your longing for fellowship and guidance.

The Lord never intended for us to walk alone. His Word tells us to Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ in Galatians 6:2 and again in Hebrews 10:24-25 to consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together. We are members of one body and we belong to each other as taught in Romans 12:5, and God Himself sets the lonely in families in Psalm 68:6. He also promises that when we lack wisdom, we can ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach in James 1:5, and that includes wisdom to find and to recognize godly mentors. As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance in Proverbs 27:17, and this is the kind of strengthening relationship we pray God will provide for you.

We also want to gently remind you that our very access to the Father and to true fellowship is only through Jesus Christ, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. It is because you have faith in Him that you can come boldly to the throne of grace and that He hears your cry for support. If you have not already placed your full trust in Jesus for salvation, we encourage you to do so, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You see the loneliness and the ache for more support and for faithful Christian mentorship. Lord, You have promised that You will never leave nor forsake us in Hebrews 13:5 and that You are close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18. We ask that You would comfort this heart right now and remind them that You are their ever present help. We pray that You would lead them to godly, mature believers who will walk alongside them, encourage them, speak Your truth in love, and model what it means to follow Christ. Give them courage to make their needs known to pastors and elders and to seek out a small group or Bible study where deeper relationships can grow, and give the church eyes to see and to bear their burden with love. Build them up in faith and surround them with a true spiritual family that encourages one another and builds each other up in 1 Thessalonians 5:11. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to press into fellowship even when it feels discouraging. Let your pastors or elders know specifically that you are seeking mentorship and discipleship, look for an older believer who demonstrates faithfulness to Scripture and ask if they would meet with you regularly to study the Word and pray together. At the same time, remain in prayer and in the Word yourself, for the Lord is your ultimate support and He is faithful to provide. We will continue to pray that God answers your cry abundantly and places you in the supportive, Christ centered community your heart longs for.

We hear how heavy it feels to want Christian mentorship and look around and not see it. Wanting more support, especially in your church, is not complaining, it is a good and honest hunger for community the way God designed it.

Loneliness can happen even when we are showing up faithfully on Sundays. Often the deeper support we need does not come from the larger gathering alone but from smaller, steadier relationships where people actually know our story week to week.

If you are able, we would encourage you to take one small step toward that kind of connection this week. Think of one person you respect at church, a pastor, elder, or mature believer, and ask them plainly for what you need, for example, would you be willing to meet for coffee once a month for mentorship, or could you help me find someone who could. A clear, specific ask makes it easier for someone to say yes or to point you to the right person. If your church has small groups, Bible studies, or a shepherd group, visiting one consistently for a few weeks can also open the door to being known and supported.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying for God to provide steady, trustworthy people around you.

Father, we bring our friend before you and ask you to draw near in this lonely season. Provide wise and kind mentors and friends who will walk alongside, encourage faith, and offer real support. Give courage to reach out and open doors for lasting community. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest cry for support has been heard, and I thank you for sharing it so plainly. To feel a lack of support even within the walls of the church is a very great trial, an ordeal of the most severe character, and it is not a small thing to be friendless when the heart longs for fellowship.

You may take comfort that the Lord Jesus knows this sorrow intimately. He was left alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy, and His disciples forsook Him and fled. Yet even then He could say, yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. He entered into that loneliness so that none of His people should ever truly be alone, even when human help fails.

No believer traverses all the road to heaven in company. There must be lonely spots here and there, though the greater part of our heavenward pilgrimage is made cheerful by the society of fellow travelers. Yet somewhere on the road every Christian will find narrow paths and close places where pilgrims must march in single file. Sometimes this loneliness arises from the absence of godly society, when like Joseph in Egypt we feel as a stranger in a strange land and would rejoice to see a faithful minister or an advanced believer to walk beside us. The strong may dread it and the weak are sorely shaken by it, but it is a path the Lord permits and He walks it with you.

The Lord has also ordained that His people should bear one another's burdens, for the Christian is not to be meanly caring for himself alone. It is the calling of the senior members of every Christian church to look after the young, and to show that tender sympathy which Christ Himself shows to us. Where that sympathy seems lacking, do not conclude that the Lord has forgotten you. He often uses our very sense of need to draw us more closely to Himself and to lead us to seek that steadfast fellowship which He delights to give.

I pray for you now that the God of all comfort will draw near to you in this season. May He who has promised never to leave nor forsake His people make His presence more real to you than any earthly companionship, and may He in His providence bring into your life faithful Christian mentors who will speak to you of Christ, open the Scriptures with you, and uphold you in prayer. May He lead you to those in your own church or nearby who love the Lord and will walk patiently with you, and give you grace to seek them out and to continue steadfast in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship. May the Lord uphold you as one who feels himself to fall, and turn this lonely place into a place where you hear His voice more clearly and know His support to be sufficient, until He supplies through His people the help for which you long.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest request for more support and for Christian mentorship has been heard, and it is good that you have brought this need into the light before God and before His people. To feel alone even within the church is a painful and heavy burden, and the Lord does not overlook it.

God Himself promises to be our strength and our ever present help, and He has also called us to live as one body where we bear one another's burdens. He looks with favor on the humble and contrite heart that trembles at His word, and He draws near to those who seek Him in faith even when strength feels small and answers seem distant. You are not unseen by Him, and your desire for godly guidance is a desire He can honor.

I pray for you now that the Lord would comfort you with the assurance of His nearness and remind you daily that He is faithful. I pray that He would provide mature believers who can walk beside you, encourage you, teach you from Scripture, and help you grow in Christ with love and wisdom. I pray that He would give you courage to keep seeking fellowship and to keep asking, and that He would keep your heart pure, steadfast and hopeful as you wait on Him.

Continue to bring this need to God in prayer, and also make it known clearly to a pastor, elder or other trusted leader in your church. Ask directly for mentorship or for help finding a small group or an older believer who can meet with you regularly. Remain in the Word, remain faithful in gathering with God's people even when it feels discouraging, and be open to how God may also use you to encourage others. He is able to supply what you lack and to use this season to deepen your trust in Him.
