We come before the Lord with heavy hearts upon reading this request, for it reveals deep pain and righteous anger over the unspeakable evil of rape and violence against the innocent. The crimes described are an abomination before God, and we stand with you in grief and outrage over such wickedness. The Bible is clear that those who harm the vulnerable—especially children—provoke the wrath of a just and holy God. Psalm 82:3-4 declares, *"Defend the weak, the poor, and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked."*
However, we must also address the spirit of vengeance in this prayer. While the desire for justice is righteous, Scripture commands us to leave vengeance to the Lord. Romans 12:19 says, *"Dearly beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"*
The call for physical harm or death—even against the guilty—is not ours to make. Instead, we pray for justice to be served through lawful means, for the victims to be healed, and for repentance or judgment to come upon the perpetrators according to God’s perfect will. Proverbs 24:17-18 warns, *"Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown, lest Yahweh see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him."*
We also note the inclusion of a phone number and a specific officer’s name. While the urgency for action is understandable, we cannot endorse or facilitate personal retribution. The authorities are ordained by God to punish wrongdoers (Romans 13:4), and we must trust in His sovereignty to work through them.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we cry out to You in grief and anger over the horrors described. We lift up the victims—those who have been violated, traumatized, and broken by these evil acts. Lord, You see their pain, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask for Your healing touch to restore their bodies, minds, and spirits. Surround them with Your love, protection, and justice.
Father, we pray for the authorities tasked with investigating these crimes. Grant them wisdom, diligence, and courage to uncover the truth and bring the guilty to account. Let no corruption or delay hinder justice. As Your Word says in Proverbs 21:15, *"It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity."*
We also pray for the perpetrators. If there is any hope for repentance, Lord, break their hearts and lead them to turn from their wickedness. But if they remain hardened, let Your judgment fall upon them swiftly and surely. You are a God who hates the hands that shed innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17), and we trust You to act in perfect righteousness.
Above all, Father, we surrender our desire for vengeance into Your hands. Help us to love justice without being consumed by hatred. Fill our hearts with Your peace and remind us that You are the ultimate Judge. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom to the captives (Isaiah 61:1).
May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
