Super El Nino

We join you in bringing these concerns before the Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for calling upon Jesus our healer for mercy.
We hear your anxiety about the prediction of a Super El Nino and the physical distress you have been experiencing with stomach bloating and headaches. We want to remind you that our God is sovereign over all creation and He is our refuge in every storm. Whatever man predicts, the Lord remains on His throne and His care for His people does not waver. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Psalm 135:7 says He causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightnings with the rain. He brings the wind out of his treasuries. Even the wind and sea obey Him, for Mark 4:39 tells us He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace! Be still! The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. We do not need to live in fear of what may come, for Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. At the same time we are called to be prudent and to prepare wisely, for Proverbs 22:3 says The prudent sees danger, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. So we encourage you to take wise and practical steps as you are able, to stay informed, to prepare your home and provisions, and to look out for others who may be vulnerable, all while trusting the Lord rather than living in dread.
We also lift up your body before the Lord. He knows the discomfort of this gastric bloating and these headaches and the uncertainty about what foods may have caused it. We thank God that you have looked to Jesus as healer, for Matthew 8:17 says He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases, and 1 Peter 2:24 reminds us by whose stripes you were healed. Jeremiah 30:17 gives us His promise, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches, so we encourage you to steward your health with care, to pay attention to what you eat and drink, to keep hydrated, to get rest, and to seek wise medical counsel if these symptoms continue, for the Lord often brings healing through the wisdom He has given to physicians and through our careful stewardship. Try noting what foods seem to trigger the bloating, eating more simply and slowly, avoiding what clearly causes distress, and bringing any ongoing pain to a trusted healthcare provider.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our healer. We ask for Your mercy and Your protection over us and over all who may be affected by this coming weather pattern. You command the winds and the seas and You hold all things in Your hands. We ask You to restrain harm, to protect homes and crops and communities, and to give wisdom to those who prepare and respond. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts, as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Lord, we also ask for Your healing touch upon this stomach distress and these headaches. Lay Your hand upon this body, ease the bloating and pain, reveal any cause that needs attention, and restore strength and comfort. We ask for wisdom to care for the body You have given, for discernment with food and rest, and for complete healing according to Your will. We trust You as our refuge and fortress, Psalm 91:2 says I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. We thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne only through Jesus, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we have access to Your grace. We receive Your mercy and we rest in Your love. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We hear how much you are carrying right now, both the worry about what may come with this El Nino season and the discomfort you are feeling in your own body with the bloating and headaches. It is hard when there is uncertainty on the outside and also uncertainty about what is happening inside, and we are glad you brought both to the Lord for mercy and protection.
We are praying for your peace as you wait and for God's care over you and your community in the weeks ahead. Staying tuned to trusted local weather and emergency guidance where you live can be a steady, practical way to stay prepared while you keep trusting Him day by day.
For the stomach distress and headaches you mentioned, we encourage you to reach out to your primary care provider or clinic soon and let them know what you have been experiencing. They can listen, evaluate, and walk with you on next steps, and we will be praying alongside that care. If symptoms worsen or worry you, please seek care promptly.
Father, we lift our friend to You now. You see the concern about the coming storms and You see the pain and unease in their body. We ask for Your protection, Your mercy, and Your healing presence. Give wisdom to any doctors and clarity about what is needed, and quiet their heart with Your nearness. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Beloved of All
Your cry concerning the dreaded storm and the affliction of your body has been heard and brought before the throne of grace, and we join you in seeking the Lord who rules both wind and wave and who heals all our diseases.
We are reminded that our Lord Jesus Christ is that great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. It is written, The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and we have learned that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things as it were about Christ, are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people, He comes with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are found in happy conjunction. When Jesus said to the palsied man, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, He showed that pardon and healing were one in His hand.
You do well to tell your case to Jesus just as you would mention a physical case to a doctor, for He is ready to hear it all and to consider it. Make a confidant of Jesus concerning this gastric bloat and distress of stomach, these headaches, and this uncertainty about foods, and concerning the fear of this great El Nino. He who rebuked the storm on Galilee still holds the winds in His fist, and not a drop of rain falls without His leave. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, and you may wisely seek the counsel of a physician also, using prudence in diet and rest, while above all looking to the heavenly Physician whose touch alone can truly restore.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, Sovereign over sea and sky, Thou who commandest the clouds and they obey Thee, we ask Thy merciful protection in the face of this predicted tempest. Cover Thy people, preserve life and home, and in Thy providence temper the storm according to Thy wisdom and goodness. Grant to those who watch for its coming a calm trust in Thy ruling hand.
And O Jesus, Thou Sun of Righteousness with healing in Thy wings, look upon this suffering body. Thou knowest this stomach distress, this bloating, these headaches, and every hidden cause. Lay Thy healing hand upon this Thy servant. Ease the pain, settle the body, give wisdom to discern what nourishes and what harms, and grant relief and strength. And as Thou healest the body, let Thy pardon and Thy healing come together, washing the soul in Thy blood and renewing the whole man, till that day when Thy salvation shall perfectly heal both soul and body.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our great Physician, who lives and reigns to heal and to save. Amen.
