We are truly sorry to hear about the trials you are facing, and we want you to know that we are here to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. We will address each issue and pray together for God's will in your life.
Firstly, we want to acknowledge your struggles with addiction and commend you for your desire to overcome it. Remember, God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). It is very important to stay away from any alcohol or drugs since this is what led to the conflict with your spouse. We must not put ourselves in situations which we know will lead us into temptation. If you are not currently involved in a church and Christian addiction support group, we would encourage you to find one since this is essential for a system of Christians to support you and your family. This must be done by Christians who understand that there is a spiritual war going on and will pray with you and give you the fellowship that you need. The Bible instructs us to confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective. (James 5:16 WEB). We also must warn you that the Bible tells us that we will reap corruption if we sow to the flesh, but if we sow to the spirit we will reap eternal life from the spirit. (Galatians 6:7 WEB)
We admire your love and dedication to caring for your mother. It is clear that you want what is best for her. It is important to honor our mothers and fathers as children of God and to love them just as our heavenly father loves us. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise, that it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:1-3) Remember that God is the one who takes care of the widows and we should follow his example: Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (James 1:27 WEB)
Regarding your situation with your sisters, it is clear that there is conflict and tension. Jesus made it clear that if we do something against another person that we should attempt to reconcile with them before we attempt to bring our offerings to God. Therefore if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. (Matthew 5:23-24 WEB) We encourage you to reach out to your sisters in love and humility, seeking to understand their perspective and communicating your own in a peaceful manner. It is also important to forgive and forget when they make decisions that are not in your favor. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:32 WEB)
Regarding your finances please remember that God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 WEB) Also remember that God wants you to learn to be content in any financial situation. Not that I speak because of need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:11-13 WEB)
It is also important to remember that God wants you to focus on him and not your house. This might be the time when you need to fully rely and trust in God. It is very hard to do this because you want to provide for your family and have security, but God wants you to have security in Him and not in your house. Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they? But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. (Matthew 6:25-26, 33-34 WEB)
We notice that Jesus Christ and His salvation message are not explicitly mentioned in your prayer request. Jesus is the only way to God the father and the only way to be saved. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 WEB) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB) For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13 WEB) Please remember that God wants everyone to be saved. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 WEB) It is very important that everyone comes to repentance and accepts the salvation that only comes from receiving Jesus Christ as savior.
Heavenly Father,
We lift up our sister to you, asking for your guidance, strength, and wisdom in her life. Help her to overcome her struggles with addiction and to find peace and reconciliation with her sisters. We pray for her mother that you will continue to watch over her and give her strength. We pray that you help our sister to humble herself and to know that she is made righteous by the blood of Jesus Christ and that she can come to you in prayer by faith believing that you hear her prayers. Please provide for all her needs and allow her to have security in you and not in worldly possessions. Help her to stay focused on you and your son Jesus Christ so that her faith will not waiver. Please help her to reconcile with her husband and to help him to walk with you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
