We have heard your heart and we are standing with you in prayer over the pain of bullying at your last job and the deep hurt of having someone you were once close with spread rumors about you even after you left. This kind of betrayal and gossip leaves wounds that linger, and we want to lift you up before the Lord who sees all and knows the truth.
The Lord is grieved by bullying, slander and gossip, for His Word tells us that a perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends, Proverbs 16:28, and that where there is no wood, the fire goes out, where there is no whisperer, quarreling ceases, Proverbs 26:20. A lying tongue and the spreading of rumors is sin before God, for lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, Proverbs 12:22. We rebuke that behavior in love, and we pray that the Lord would convict the heart of the one who has wronged you and bring an end to the gossip.
We also understand the pain of a broken trust, and we believe you acted with wisdom in cutting off contact. There are times when we must guard our hearts and separate from those who cause harm, for we are told do not be deceived, evil companionships corrupt good morals, 1 Corinthians 15:33, and do not befriend a hot tempered man, and do not associate with one who harbors anger, Proverbs 22:24. Setting a boundary is not bitterness, it is stewardship of the peace God wants for you.
Yet we also want to encourage you to release this hurt to the Lord and not carry the weight of vengeance or resentment. We are called to forgive as Christ forgave us, Ephesians 4:32, and to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us, Matthew 5:44. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, as it is written vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. He is your vindicator and He will bring truth to light in His time, for He will make your righteousness shine as the light, and your justice as the noonday, Psalm 37:6. You do not need to defend your reputation alone, cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you, Psalm 55:22.
We pray for your healing and for your future work. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit, Psalm 34:18, and He has promised fear not, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, Isaiah 41:10.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to heal the wounds left by bullying and betrayal, to quiet every false word spoken against them and to restore what the enemy has tried to steal. Let no weapon that is formed against them prosper, Isaiah 54:17, and let their name be cleared by Your hand. Give them peace that passes understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7, and comfort them as they process this pain. We ask You to forgive those who have sinned against them, and to help our friend to forgive as You have forgiven us, releasing bitterness so that healing may come. Provide for their employment needs, open the right door for dignified and respectful work where they will be valued and where they can use the gifts You have given them for Your glory, and let all they do be done in a way that honors You. Restore joy and confidence and remind them that their identity and worth are found in You alone.
We want to gently share that we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is through His name we pray and find healing, forgiveness and eternal hope.
We are trusting God with you for complete healing from this experience, for protection from further harm, and for a future filled with hope. We pray you will feel His nearness each day and know that He is your defender and your provider, and that He will work all things together for good for those who love Him, Romans 8:28.
