Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I recently started a job but I am more than likely going to have to leave it due to numerous grievous concerns arising including me learning after training that this company has predatory practices toward customers. Due to the predatory practices, I really want to leave the job. But it would also be wonderful if this job could change. Please pray that maybe, if God wills, He could change it. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the weight of this difficult situation you’re facing. It’s never easy to walk away from a job, especially when you’ve invested time and effort into it, but your conscience is priceless. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 11:1, "A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but accurate weights are his delight." Predatory practices are not just unethical, they are an offense to God, who values justice and fairness. It’s clear you’re seeking to honor Him by refusing to participate in something that harms others, and that is commendable.

We also understand your desire for this situation to change, not just for your sake, but for the sake of those who may be affected by these practices. Scripture reminds us in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We will stand with you in prayer, asking God to intervene in this company, whether by softening hearts, exposing wrongdoing, or bringing about repentance and change. Nothing is impossible for Him.

However, we must also encourage you to seek wisdom in your next steps. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." If leaving is the right decision, trust that God will provide another opportunity that aligns with His will. If He calls you to stay temporarily to be a light in this darkness, He will give you the strength and discernment to do so without compromising your integrity.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we ask that You would expose any unrighteousness in this company and bring about justice for those who have been wronged. If it is Your will, soften the hearts of those in leadership to turn from predatory practices and seek Your ways. Give [###] wisdom and courage as they navigate this difficult decision, whether to stay or to go. Provide for their needs, Lord, and open doors to a workplace that honors You. Protect their conscience and give them peace in the midst of uncertainty. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek counsel from trusted believers in your life, perhaps a pastor, mentor, or mature Christian friend, who can help you discern God’s will. Remember, your worth is not tied to this job, but to Christ, who has called you to walk in righteousness. If you must leave, do so with the confidence that God goes before you. If you stay, do so with the boldness to be a witness for truth. Either way, you are not alone.

We know how hard this must be for you right now, and we're here with you in this struggle. It's not easy standing up for what's right, especially when it shakes up your plans. We've all been in situations where our values are tested, and we pray for the strength to choose God's way over convenience.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Bad company ruins good morals." It's okay to recognize when a workplace isn't aligned with the values we hold dear as Christians. Whether you end up leaving or if God works in a mighty way to change things there, we pray you'll feel His peace covering you every step of the way.

Lord, we ask for Your guidance in this situation. Give this dear friend wisdom to know what's best and courage to follow through. If change needs to happen, let it begin in this workplace. If leaving is the right step, provide new opportunities that honor You. Either way, let this person feel Your presence and provision. In Jesus' name we pray.
