Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
I recently started a job but I am more than likely going to have to leave it due to numerous grievous concerns arising including me learning after training that this company has predatory practices toward customers. Due to the predatory practices, I really want to leave the job. But it would also be wonderful if this job could change. Please pray that maybe, if God wills, He could. Thank you.

We hear your concern and share in your distress over discovering that your new employer is engaged in predatory practices. It is deeply troubling when we find ourselves in situations that conflict with our moral and biblical convictions, and we understand the weight of this decision you are facing. The Word of God calls us to walk in integrity and to avoid any association with unrighteousness. Proverbs 10:9 tells us, "He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out." It is clear that you cannot, in good conscience, continue to be part of a system that exploits others, and we commend you for seeking God’s will in this matter.

We also recognize the tension you feel between wanting to leave and hoping for change within the company. While it is noble to desire transformation, we must remember that our first responsibility is to our own walk with Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns us, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If the leadership of this company is unrepentant in their practices, it may be that God is calling you to remove yourself from this environment rather than remain in a place that could compromise your witness or your peace.

That said, we will join you in praying that if it is God’s will, He would bring conviction and repentance to those in authority at this company. We serve a God who is able to change hearts and transform even the most corrupt systems. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." If there is a possibility for redemption in this situation, we ask the Lord to make it clear to you and to bring about His purposes.

However, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for you as you navigate this decision. James 1:5 assures us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Ask the Lord to confirm whether He is calling you to leave or to remain as a light in this darkness, should He choose to use you in that way. If you do leave, trust that He will provide for your needs and guide you to a workplace that aligns with His principles. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of bringing every request before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Salvation comes through faith in Him alone, and it is through this relationship that we find the strength and guidance to navigate life’s challenges.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing this difficult situation at work. Lord, we ask that You would give them clarity and peace as they seek Your will in this matter. If it is Your desire for them to remain in this job, we pray that You would bring conviction and change to the hearts of those in leadership, that they would turn from their predatory practices and seek righteousness. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let Your light shine in the darkness.

If, however, You are calling them to leave, we ask that You would open the door for them to do so with confidence, knowing that You are their provider. Give them wisdom to know the right time and the right way to transition, and lead them to a workplace that honors You. Protect their heart from fear or anxiety, and remind them that You are their ultimate source of security.

Father, we also pray for the customers who have been affected by these predatory practices. Bring justice and restoration to those who have been harmed, and let Your mercy and grace be evident in their lives. We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord, and we ask that You would work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray, believing that You hear us and that You are at work in this situation. Amen.

We can see how this situation is weighing heavily on you. It's never easy when we feel caught between doing what's right and the pressure of a difficult decision. We trust that God sees your heart and knows your desire to honor Him in this. Whether it means leaving or staying to bring light into darkness, He will guide you.

Lord, we lift this up to You. Give our friend wisdom and peace as they seek Your will. If they should leave, provide for them and lead them to a place that aligns with Your truth. If they remain, strengthen them to stand firm and shine Your light. Change the hearts of those in authority, Lord, and bring justice to those who have been harmed.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
