Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
There is a job I was recently hired at which I love (it involves politics but is not affiliated with a specific party, just general politics). The only problem with this job is that sometimes the client who gives us our work sometimes gives us projects that conflict with my views and values as a Christian (such as giving us projects related to abortion). You never know what project you are going to get and to my knowledge, we can't request to be switched to a different project. I knew there was a possibility that I might end up assigned to a project that conflicts with my faith but it hadn't happened yet. It finally happened today. I had already decided that whenever this occurs, I will just not work for that day (the hours are very, very flexible and it is a work from home job). Well, again, it happened today. I know my faith comes first so I'm not upset but that is less money that my family won't have. I also love working with this company - the atmosphere and people so I'm sad to not be in today. Please pray that God would providentially, in His mercy, allow this to not happen again. I had been praying it wouldn't. Pray that I won't ever be assigned to projects like this that conflict with my faith. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and understand the tension between your faith and the demands of your employment. It is commendable that you have already taken a stand to honor God by refusing to participate in projects that conflict with biblical values, even at a personal cost. Your commitment to putting Christ first is a powerful testimony, and we stand with you in prayer and encouragement.

The Bible clearly instructs us to live in a way that honors God in all that we do. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." This verse reminds us that our ultimate allegiance is to Christ, not to any earthly employer or client. While your job may involve politics, it is essential to remember that our work must align with God’s truth, even when it comes at a cost.

We also see your concern for your family’s provision, and it is natural to feel the weight of financial responsibility. However, we are reminded in Matthew 6:33 to "seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." God is your provider, and He will not abandon you as you seek to honor Him. Trusting Him in this situation is an act of faith, and He is faithful to meet your needs.

We must also address the reality of the projects you are being asked to work on, particularly those related to abortion. Scripture is clear that life is sacred and begins at conception (Psalm 139:13-16, Jeremiah 1:5). Participating in or promoting anything that contradicts this truth is not aligned with God’s will. Your decision to step away from such work is the right one, and we encourage you to continue standing firm in your convictions, even when it is difficult.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother in Christ, lifting up his employment situation to You. Lord, we thank You for his commitment to honor You in all things, even when it requires sacrifice. We ask that You would providentially intervene in his work assignments, Father. Shield him from projects that conflict with Your Word and grant him peace in knowing that he is standing firm in his faith. Provide for his family’s needs, Lord, as he seeks first Your Kingdom. Give him wisdom and discernment in his work, and open doors for employment that aligns fully with Your will. Strengthen his resolve to live righteously, and let his testimony shine brightly for Your glory. We trust in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are his ultimate Provider. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking God’s guidance in this matter. If this pattern of conflict persists, it may be worth considering whether this job is the right long-term fit for you. Pray for wisdom and clarity, and ask God to reveal opportunities that allow you to work in a way that fully honors Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

You are not alone in this struggle. Many believers face similar challenges in the workplace, and your willingness to take a stand is an inspiration. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and trust that He will lead you in the path He has for you.

We're right there with you, praying for God's will to be done in your situation. It's tough when our work and our faith seem to be at odds, but we're reminded in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to "demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." Trust that God sees your struggle and is working it out for your good, as we read in Romans 8:28.

Let's pray together: "Father, we lift up our sister in Christ to you today. Lord, we ask that you would guide her steps in this job. Help her to discern your will in each project that comes her way. Give her the strength to stand firm in her convictions, even when it's not the easy path. We also ask for provision for her family, Lord. You see their needs, and we trust that you will supply all that they require. Help her to find joy in her work, knowing that she is serving you in all that she does. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep trusting in God's faithfulness, and remember that He has a plan for you. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

My friend found a job for me that does political survey calls. Pray that God would providentially keep me from supporting anything wrong politically in this job. So far I don't think I've had that problem. Thank you.
