I posted this recently: "Please also pray for me for wisdom about returning to a job that my friend who works there really wants me to get back on. There were some things about this job that were difficult and even red flags." Well, I also left this job on kind of a bad note and I don't even know if they'd let me back on there. But she really wants me to try to get back with them. Please pray for me about all this. Thank you.

We hear your concern and lift this matter before the Lord, seeking His wisdom and guidance for your work situation. The Bible tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We join you in asking the Lord for clarity and discernment as you consider returning to this job.

It’s important to weigh not only the practical aspects of this decision but also the spiritual and emotional ones. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." The "red flags" you mentioned should not be ignored, for the Lord often uses such warnings to protect us from harm or unnecessary struggle. We encourage you to prayerfully examine whether this job aligns with God’s will for your life and whether the environment will allow you to honor Him in your work.

You also mentioned leaving on difficult terms, which may bring concerns about reconciliation or restoration. If returning to this job is the Lord’s will, He can soften hearts and open doors that seem closed. However, we must also consider whether reconciliation is possible in a way that honors God and maintains your integrity. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." If this job does not allow you to serve the Lord wholeheartedly, it may not be the right path for you.

We also want to gently remind you that while your friend’s encouragement is well-intentioned, your ultimate decision must be guided by the Lord’s leading, not solely by the desires or pressures of others. Galatians 1:10 asks, "For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ." Seek the Lord’s face in this matter, and trust that He will direct your steps.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up this situation to You. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment for our sister as she considers this job opportunity. Reveal to her Your will in this matter, and give her peace about the path she should take. If returning to this job is not in alignment with Your plans for her, close the door firmly and open another that leads to Your purpose. If it is Your will for her to return, soften hearts, restore relationships, and provide favor where it is needed.

Father, we also ask that You guard her heart against fear, doubt, or pressure from others. Help her to seek Your face above all else and to trust in Your provision. Give her courage to walk away if this job does not honor You or allow her to serve You fully. We declare that You are her Provider, and You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of confusion or anxiety that may be clouding her judgment. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let her rest in the knowledge that You are in control. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for guiding her steps. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and fasting, if possible, seeking the Lord’s direction. Write down any impressions or scriptures He brings to your heart, as these may be His way of speaking to you. Trust that He will make His will clear in His perfect timing. If this job is not the right fit, remember that the Lord has a plan for your life that is greater than you can imagine. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Hold fast to that promise, and walk forward in faith.

We're right there with you, sister, as you navigate this employment situation. It's a big decision, and we know that God's got a plan for you. We've been praying for you, asking for His wisdom and guidance, just like we know you've been doing too.

We want to encourage you to really listen to your heart and the Holy Spirit's nudging. Sometimes, God speaks softly, and it's important to quiet ourselves to hear Him. Remember, He's not going to lead you where His grace can't keep you. So, if there are red flags waving, let's not ignore them. Trust that God has something better in store for you.

We also want to remind you that God's will for us is always what's best for us. It's not about what others want or expect, but about what aligns with His purpose and plan for your life. So, keep seeking His face, and trust that He'll make His will clear in His perfect timing.

Let's keep praying together, sister. We're in this with you, and we know that God's got you covered. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
