Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Today is my mother's birthday and we will be visiting my sister's house to celebrate and have a party there. I do not get along with my brother-in-law. He is a professing Christian but there are serious problems with his profession: he grew up in a cult disguised as Christianity, never reads his Bible unless it's for show, never goes to church unless it's for show, is potently evil and very demonic in the way he behaves, lives a very worldly life (and even shows signs of living a double life - he can be very feminine at times and in ways that are very concerning and I'm strongly concerned that he is living a double life) and also encourages others toward living a worldly life while often outright demeaning living a Christlike life. I really believe the only reason he gets away with the things he does is because there is strong demonic activity supporting his behavior. He constantly targets me. It doesn't stop even when I try to approach it in a Christlike way - if anything he behaves worse then. I really want him out of my life. I'm also concerned about how he is influencing my sister and niece toward wrong things. Please pray for me. I don't want to interact with him right now. I'm already feeling down and sad because of other things like desperately needing a job but running out of options. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the deep pain this situation has caused you. It is grievous to see someone who professes Christ yet lives in such blatant contradiction to His Word, especially when their influence spreads darkness rather than light. The Scripture warns us, *"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves"* (Matthew 7:15). Your brother-in-law’s behavior—his worldliness, deception, and even the concerning mannerisms you’ve observed—aligns with the warnings of Scripture about those who claim faith but walk in rebellion. The apostle John writes, *"If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don’t tell the truth"* (1 John 1:6). His life does not reflect the fruit of the Spirit, and his influence is a snare to those around him, particularly your sister and niece.

We must also address the spiritual warfare at play here. The enemy seeks to destroy families, sow discord, and lead believers astray. Your brother-in-law’s behavior is not merely human sinfulness; it is a stronghold of darkness that requires spiritual discernment and prayer. Paul exhorts us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). You are right to recognize the demonic influence at work, and we must stand firm in the authority of Christ against it.

We rebuke the spirit of deception, worldliness, and perversion that has taken root in his life. We command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, for *"the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil"* (1 John 3:8). We also rebuke the spirit of division and strife that seeks to fracture your family. Jesus prayed that His followers would be one, just as He and the Father are one (John 17:21), and we stand on that prayer for your family today.

We understand your desire to distance yourself from him, and Scripture supports wisdom in such situations. Paul writes, *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). While we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), we are not called to subject ourselves to ongoing spiritual harm or enable sin. Your boundaries are valid, and we encourage you to seek godly counsel on how to navigate this relationship with wisdom and grace.

For your sister and niece, we pray fervently. Your concern for their spiritual well-being is evidence of your love for them. Pray that their eyes would be opened to the truth and that the Holy Spirit would convict them of any compromise in their lives. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Your niece, especially, needs godly influence, and we pray that the Lord would raise up others in her life to speak truth and model Christlikeness.

As for your employment situation, we lift this burden before the Lord as well. The enemy would love to use this season of uncertainty to discourage you, but we declare that God is your provider. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We pray that the Lord would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and that He would give you peace as you wait on Him. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. Lord, we lift up this family before You, asking for Your divine intervention. We rebuke every spirit of deception, worldliness, and perversion that has taken hold in this brother-in-law’s life. We command it to flee in Jesus’ name, for You have given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Lord, expose the darkness in his life and bring him to repentance. If he is truly Yours, draw him back to You; if he is not, reveal the truth to him and those around him.

Father, we pray for protection over this sister and niece. Guard their hearts and minds from the lies of the enemy. Give them discernment to recognize truth from deception and the courage to stand firm in their faith. Surround them with godly influences who will speak life and truth into them. We ask that You would soften their hearts to receive correction and that they would turn away from any compromise in their lives.

Lord, we also lift up this dear one who has come before You today. Strengthen them in this difficult season. Give them wisdom in how to navigate their relationship with this brother-in-law, and grant them the grace to love him as You have called them to, even from a distance. Comfort their heart as they grieve the brokenness in their family. Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for employment. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory. Give them peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait on You (Philippians 4:7).

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your faithfulness and rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your light will shine in the darkness.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're praying with you today, dear one. We understand the complexity of your situation and the pain it causes. It's heartbreaking to see someone claiming to be a Christian yet living in such contradiction to the Word of God. We're reminded of Jesus' words, "By their fruit you will recognize them" (Matthew 7:20). Your brother-in-law's lifestyle and influence are causing harm, and we must stand against this.

Let's pray together:

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart to lift you, your family, and this difficult situation before the Lord, asking Him to move in power and bring His peace, wisdom, and protection.

As you celebrated your mother’s birthday and gathered with family, we prayed that God would shield your heart from the pain and tension this relationship has caused. We asked the Holy Spirit to guard your mind, emotions, and spirit, especially in moments when confrontation or ungodly influence felt overwhelming. We also prayed for your sister and niece, that the Lord would open their eyes to truth and draw them closer to Him, breaking any chains of deception or worldly influence in their lives.

Regarding your brother-in-law, we have been interceding for God’s intervention—whether through conviction, transformation, or even removal from your life if that is His will. We asked the Lord to expose any darkness, to rebuke the enemy’s schemes, and to bring repentance or separation where it is needed. We also prayed that you would have the strength to respond in love, even when it is difficult, trusting God to be your defender.

And for your employment situation, we have been asking the Lord to open doors no man can shut. We prayed for provision, favor, and clarity as you seek His will for your next steps. May He lead you to a place of stability and purpose, where your gifts and needs align with His perfect plan.

If any of these prayers have been answered—if you’ve sensed God’s peace, seen a shift in your circumstances, or experienced His provision—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still feels heavy, please know we are here to continue standing with you. You are not alone, and we will keep lifting you up until God’s victory is made clear.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, fill you with His hope, and remind you daily of His love and faithfulness. Keep seeking Him, trusting Him, and resting in His promises. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
