Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: I recently quit a job that I had once thought God was leading me to. I was only there a little over a month and then concerning things began happening (some things may have occurred due to spiritual warfare and been excusable) and I eventually made the decision to quit because I was becoming physically and emotionally unwell. I am now in a confused, sad place. I am worried about my family's finances. We really could have used the money that job would have given me and I'm also trying to save up for something important in May (although I was able to save up the bulk of my checks from this job for this thing I'm saving for, I just need a bit more money). But I do feel a bit relieved from being out of this job. Please pray for me. I am trying to look for work. Someone close to me keeps telling me that I need to just work for myself (especially due to my personality) so I am now considering that seriously. Please pray for me about all this. Thank you.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the Lord with compassion and understanding. The confusion, sadness, and financial concern you’re carrying are heavy burdens, but we know that our Heavenly Father sees you, loves you, and is already at work in your situation. Let’s bring this before Him together, trusting that He will guide your steps and provide for your needs according to His riches in glory.

First, we want to acknowledge the courage it took to leave a job that was causing you physical and emotional harm. It’s clear that you were seeking to honor God in your decision, and we believe He honors that obedience. The enemy would love to use this season to discourage you, to make you doubt whether you heard God’s voice correctly, or to fill your mind with "what ifs." But we rebuke that spirit of confusion and fear in the name of Jesus. The Bible tells us in James 1:5-6, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed." You sought God’s will when you took the job, and now you’re seeking His will again as you move forward. That is faith in action, and we believe He will direct your path.

We also want to encourage you to bring your financial concerns to the Lord. It’s natural to worry about provision, especially when you have a family to care for and goals you’re working toward. But Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." God is not unaware of your needs, and He is faithful to provide. We pray that He would open doors of opportunity for you—whether that’s through another job, a temporary solution, or even the wisdom to start your own business if that’s His will for you. The key is to seek Him first and trust that He will add all these things to you.

Now, regarding the suggestion from someone close to you about working for yourself, we encourage you to weigh this carefully before the Lord. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." It’s wise to seek godly counsel from those who know you well and who walk closely with the Lord. However, the final decision must be bathed in prayer and aligned with God’s Word. If working for yourself is something you’re considering, ask the Lord to confirm it through His peace, His Word, and the counsel of others. Remember, too, that self-employment comes with its own set of challenges—financial instability, long hours, and the need for discipline. But if God is calling you to it, He will equip you and provide the resources you need.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of bringing everything to God in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father or find salvation. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus is not just a part of our prayers—He is the foundation of them. It is only through His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and His intercession for us that we have access to God’s throne of grace. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, acknowledging Him as your Lord and Savior. If you have, then we rejoice with you and pray that you would continue to grow in your relationship with Him, trusting Him more deeply each day.

Let’s pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is navigating this season of uncertainty and transition. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who sees, who knows, and who cares deeply about every detail of their life. We ask that You would calm their heart and mind, replacing confusion with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your timing and Your provision, knowing that You are their Good Shepherd who leads them beside still waters and restores their soul.

Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for them—whether that’s through another job, a temporary solution, or the wisdom to start something new. Give them clarity and discernment as they seek Your will, and surround them with godly counselors who can speak truth and encouragement into their life. If working for themselves is Your plan for them, Lord, we ask that You would equip them with everything they need—financially, emotionally, and spiritually—to step into that calling with confidence.

We also pray for their family’s finances, Lord. You know their needs even before they ask, and we trust that You will provide for them in ways that only You can. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You, seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take root in their heart. Fill them instead with Your hope, Your joy, and Your strength. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Help them to rest in You, even in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that You are working all things together for their good.

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust You, and we give You all the glory. Amen.

In this season, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. Psalm 37:23-24 says, "A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand." You may feel like you’ve stumbled, but God is holding you up. He is not done with you, and He is not done with your story. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep moving forward one step at a time. He is faithful, and He will lead you into the next chapter of His plan for your life.

We're right here with you, friend. We know it's tough, but remember, God is always with you, even in the confusion and uncertainty. Let's pray together, "Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, lifting up our ### who's going through a tough time with their job situation. Lord, we ask that You would give them clarity and peace. Help them to trust in Your timing and provision. We also pray for their family's finances, Lord. You know their needs, and we trust that You will provide for them in Your perfect way. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps, calm your fears, and provide clarity in this season of transition. We have prayed for wisdom as you seek His will regarding your next steps—whether that be finding new employment or stepping out in faith to work for yourself.

We’ve asked the Lord to meet your family’s financial needs, trusting that He sees your faithfulness and will not leave you lacking. We’ve also prayed for peace to replace confusion, for healing from the emotional and physical strain you’ve endured, and for assurance that you made the right decision in leaving that workplace.

If God has already answered in some way—whether through provision, a new opportunity, or even just a deepened sense of His presence—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him the glory together. If, however, you’re still waiting and walking through uncertainty, we want to continue standing with you. Consider this an invitation to post your request again so we can keep lifting you up in prayer.

Above all, we pray that you would feel the nearness of Christ in this time, that His peace would guard your heart, and that His direction would become clearer with each passing day. May He bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His will be done in your life in ways that bring Him honor and you joy.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
