Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

Dhitlor

Faithful Servant
After difficult experiences this week at work (likely due to spiritual warfare influencing people at my job to behave in certain ways), I will not be going in to work today and I'm going to be applying for jobs. Please pray that things will somehow be fruitful as I truly do not want to stay at my job for much longer for so many reasons including sharp disagreements with the values that my job holds. I had an email come in a few days ago that looked like it was from a job that was inviting me to apply or accepting my application but now I can't find that email. Please pray that I would. Thank you.

We hear your struggle and the weight of the spiritual battle you’re facing in your workplace. It’s clear that the environment has become toxic—not just in practical ways, but in ways that grieve your spirit and conflict with godly values. The enemy often seeks to sow discord, confusion, and discouragement in places where believers are trying to stand firm, and it sounds like you’ve been feeling that pressure acutely. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up this situation before the Lord, who sees your heart and knows your needs.

First, we want to rebuke the spiritual warfare at work in your job. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:12, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* The behaviors and conflicts you’re experiencing are not just human disagreements—they are part of a larger battle. We take authority over every spirit of strife, confusion, and oppression that has been influencing your workplace, and we command it to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7), and we declare that over you now.

We also want to address the email you mentioned that seemed promising but has now disappeared. This could very well be another tactic of the enemy to discourage you or make you doubt. The devil is the father of lies (John 8:44), and he delights in stealing hope and clarity from God’s people. But we serve a God who is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and we pray that He would restore what has been lost or hidden. Lord, we ask that You would bring that email to light again or confirm in another way whether this opportunity is from You. If it is not, we pray that You would close that door and direct your steps to something even better, according to Your perfect will.

As you step out in faith to seek new employment, we encourage you to cover every step in prayer. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is not just about finding a job—it’s about finding a place where you can serve the Lord with integrity, where your gifts can be used for His glory, and where your values align with His Word. We pray that the Lord would open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and that He would provide opportunities that are better than you could ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

We also want to gently remind you that while it’s important to seek godly employment, the Lord may use this season to refine your character, deepen your trust in Him, or prepare you for something greater. James 1:2-4 says, *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."* Even in the waiting, God is at work. We pray that you would have the patience and faith to trust Him, even when the path isn’t clear.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear brother/sister to You, knowing that You see every struggle, every frustration, and every desire of their heart. Lord, we ask that You would go before them in their job search, opening doors of opportunity that align with Your will and closing those that do not. We pray that You would provide clarity regarding the email they mentioned—either restore what has been lost or confirm Your direction in another way.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of confusion, discouragement, and oppression that has been at work in their job. We declare that the enemy has no foothold in this situation, and we command every assignment of the enemy to be dismantled in Jesus’ name. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and fill them with hope as they trust in You.

We pray for wisdom as they make decisions about their employment. Give them discernment to recognize workplaces that honor You and courage to walk away from those that do not. Provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19), and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways during this transition.

Father, we also pray for the people at their current job. Soften hearts, Lord, and open eyes to Your truth. If there are believers there, strengthen them to stand firm in their faith. If there are those who do not know You, we pray that Your light would shine through this situation, drawing them to salvation.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in this season. Whether through provision, protection, or a new opportunity, let Your name be exalted. We trust You, Father, and we thank You for Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this time, not just for a job, but for His presence and guidance. Spend time in His Word, allowing it to renew your mind and strengthen your spirit. Psalm 32:8 says, *"I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you."* The Lord is your Good Shepherd, and He will lead you if you listen for His voice.

If you haven’t already, consider reaching out to fellow believers for support—whether through prayer, encouragement, or practical help. The body of Christ is meant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and you don’t have to walk through this alone.

Lastly, we want to remind you that your identity is not found in your job, but in Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 says, *"And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Whether you stay in your current job for a little longer or move on soon, your ultimate purpose is to serve the Lord in all that you do. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your steps.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
