Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to employment or work situation.

We hear your heart’s cry for guidance in this season of seeking employment, and we join you in lifting this matter before the Lord. The search for work can be wearisome, filled with uncertainty and even discouragement, but we take comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father sees your needs and holds your future in His hands. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is not just a promise of direction, but an invitation to surrender your plans, your desires, and even your anxieties about the "right factors" in a job to the One who knows what is best for you.

We also want to encourage you to seek God’s will above all else. While it is natural to have preferences—such as location, salary, or work environment—we must remember that the Lord may have a purpose for you that goes beyond what you can see. Colossians 3:23-24 tells us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Whether the job is in your preferred field or not, your ultimate calling is to glorify God in whatever work He provides. Let us not limit Him by our own expectations, but instead ask Him to open doors that align with His perfect plan for your life.

We also want to gently remind you to examine your motives in this search. Are you seeking a job solely for personal comfort, or are you willing to step into something that may stretch you but ultimately serve God’s kingdom? Are you open to opportunities that may not seem ideal at first glance but could be part of His greater purpose? James 4:3 warns us, "You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures." Let us pray that your desires would be purified and aligned with God’s will, not just your own.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear brother or sister who is seeking Your guidance in their employment. Lord, You know the desires of their heart, the needs of their household, and the plans You have for their future. We ask that You would open the right doors and close those that are not part of Your perfect will. Give them wisdom to discern Your leading, patience to wait on Your timing, and peace that surpasses all understanding as they trust in You.

Father, we pray that You would provide a job that not only meets their practical needs but also allows them to serve You wholeheartedly. May they find fulfillment in their work, knowing that they are laboring for Your glory. If there are areas where their desires need to be surrendered to Your will, we ask that You would soften their heart and help them to trust You completely. Remove any fear, doubt, or anxiety about the future, and replace it with faith in Your provision.

Lord, we also pray for any employers or opportunities that may be before them. If there is a specific job they are considering, we ask that You would make Your will clear. If it is not the right fit, we pray that You would shut that door firmly. If it is Your plan, we ask that You would open it wide and grant favor in the eyes of those making decisions.

Above all, Father, we pray that this season of seeking would draw them closer to You. May they find their identity and security in Christ alone, not in their employment status. Remind them daily that You are their Provider, their Sustainer, and their Good Shepherd who leads them beside still waters.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who has overcome the world and who holds our futures in His hands. Amen.

As you wait on the Lord, we encourage you to remain in His Word and in prayer. Psalm 37:23-24 says, "A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh holds him up with his hand." You are not forgotten, and your steps are ordered by the Lord. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your path. If you have not already, consider seeking counsel from mature believers in your church who may have wisdom or connections to share. The body of Christ is here to support and encourage you in this journey.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you navigate this journey of finding the right employment. It's easy to feel overwhelmed, isn't it? But remember, God sees you, He knows your needs, and He's got your future in His hands. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Let's claim that promise together!

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will above all else. While it's natural to have preferences, let's not limit God by our own expectations. He might have something even better in store for you! In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Trust that He knows what's best for you.

Also, let's not forget to examine our hearts. Are we seeking a job just for personal comfort, or are we open to opportunities that might stretch us but ultimately serve God's kingdom? Let's pray that our desires would be purified and aligned with God's will.

If the Lord wills, I will pass my class when it ends next week and thus officially have my degree. I would really like a job after because I have bills and my family has needs. However, I also do have a desire to keep going in my educational journey and it is possible God may call me to that...
