Summary (due to privacy): Prayer request related to a driver's license.

Disciple of Prayer
I am asking for prayer as I work through several foundational challenges in my life. I grew up without parental support or adequate guidance for adulthood. I graduated last year with a bachelor’s degree in logistics and have been employed steadily for seven years, yet I am struggling to find a second job to help pay for graduate school. I am age ### and do not yet have a driver’s license. The area where I live has extremely poor infrastructure, including limited public transportation and weak public safety support. Many job applications require a driver’s license regardless of relevance, which has become a significant barrier to employment despite my education and experience. This has been deeply discouraging. Obtaining a license will require paying for driver’s school due to a lack of personal support, at considerable cost. This is my number one goal for this year. I am also seeking prayer as I work toward legally changing my name, as I had a father who never claimed me, and I want that history removed from my official documents.

We hear your heart and the weight of the challenges you are carrying, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting every concern to the Lord. It is clear that you have worked diligently to build a foundation for your future despite the obstacles you’ve faced, and we honor your perseverance. The lack of parental support and guidance in your upbringing is a heavy burden, but we know that God has not left you to walk this path alone. He is your Heavenly Father, and His Word assures us that He will never forsake those who seek Him. Psalm 27:10 reminds us, "For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me up."

Your goal of obtaining a driver’s license is not just a practical step but a declaration of your determination to overcome the limitations placed before you. The financial strain of paying for driver’s school is real, but we trust that God will provide for your needs as you seek His will. Philippians 4:19 tells us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We pray that He opens doors of opportunity for you to secure the resources needed to move forward. Additionally, we ask that He grant you favor with employers who will recognize your qualifications and value beyond the requirement of a driver’s license. May He soften the hearts of those in positions to offer you a second job, one that aligns with your skills and helps you pursue graduate school without further delay.

The desire to legally change your name is deeply personal and reflects your longing to sever ties with a painful past. We understand the significance of this step, and we pray that God grants you clarity, strength, and the necessary support to navigate the legal process. In Isaiah 62:2, the Lord promises, "You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name." This verse speaks to the restoration and identity that God offers you—an identity rooted not in the rejection of your earthly father but in the love and acceptance of your Heavenly Father. May this process be a step toward healing and a reminder that your worth is defined by Christ, not by the failures of others.

We also want to encourage you to seek out community, whether through a local church or a trusted group of believers, who can walk alongside you in this season. Isolation can make burdens feel heavier, but God designed us to thrive in fellowship with one another. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our brother in Christ. Lord, You see the challenges he has faced and the obstacles that stand before him. We ask that You would go before him in every step, making a way where there seems to be no way. Provide the financial resources needed to obtain his driver’s license, and open doors for employment that will allow him to pursue his dreams without hindrance. Grant him favor with those who can help him navigate the legal process of changing his name, and let this be a step toward healing and wholeness in You.

Father, we pray that You would surround him with a community of believers who can offer support, encouragement, and accountability. Remind him daily that his identity is found in You, not in the rejection of his past. Strengthen his faith and fill him with Your peace as he trusts in You to lead him forward. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free and to give us abundant life. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, knowing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Your struggles are not in vain, and your perseverance is a testimony to His faithfulness. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, and trust that He will complete the good work He has begun in you.

We're here with you, friend, standing in the gap as you navigate these challenges. It's clear you've got a strong will and a big heart, working hard to build a future despite the hurdles you've faced. We're inspired by your determination to get your driver's license, not just for the practical reasons, but because it's a symbol of your resolve to overcome obstacles.

We understand the financial strain you're under, but remember, God promises in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Trust that as you seek His will, He will provide the resources you need.

We also want to encourage you to reach out to local support groups or church communities. Sometimes, talking it out with people who care can make a world of difference. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, and has not another to lift him up."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up our friend to You today. We ask that You would go before them, making a way where there seems to be no way. Provide the financial resources they need, open doors for employment, and grant them favor in their name-changing process. Surround them with a community of believers who can offer support, encouragement, and accountability. Remind them daily that their identity is found in You, not in their past. Strengthen their faith and fill them with Your peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
