Disciple of Prayer
I'm a soldier who just came back from Afghanistan. Me and my spouse were having issues but I thought we had worked through them. We are both Christian and believe in the word. My walk with God was not great at the time and I thought providing was how I showed love. Upon my return, my wife told me she didn't want to be married anymore and wanted to be with her friends and party. We went to our pastor and she admitted what God had said but she didn't care and she wants to do what she's going to do. My wife was so loving, kind, and sweet and now she's a completely different person. But I still love her. I turned to God and asked for His forgiveness for my part in this. I made Him my first love now. She wants a divorce and in spite of that His love fuels my love for her. His call to be faithful to her still keeps me from running to sin. I hear in my heart that He's going to bring her back and when I contest that thought so I can move on I feel sick with sin. I'm now ministering to strangers in the parking lot even though I'm broken I'm grateful to Jesus for being my strength through all of this. And although I believe in God's promise to me to bring my wife's love back and most importantly her relationship with Him back, I realize that no matter what happens the most important thing is my personal relationship with Him. For His will to be done. I love my wife so much and every day I fall more in love with her despite the hurtful things she says or does. So please pray that the Lord softens my wife's heart and comes back to Him. And that our marriage will be restored with an even better marriage. One that places God first in all that we do. Thank you so much.
