We understand that you're going through a difficult time, struggling with addiction and seeking hope. Firstly, we commend you for maintaining your virginity. It is a precious gift from God, and we encourage you to continue honoring God with your body.
Watching pornography is a sin against your own body and also against God. It distorts the sacredness of the marital act and can lead to a warped perspective on relationships and sexuality. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB:
Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
It is important to remember that sexual intimacy is designed by God to be enjoyed within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. It is an expression of love, commitment, and oneness, not merely a physical act. As Hebrews 13:4 WEB states:
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
To overcome this addiction, turn to Jesus Christ. He is the only way to be saved from sin and to have eternal life.
Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 WEB
Confess your sins to God, repent, and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Seek His forgiveness and His strength to overcome this addiction.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB
Pray for purity, self-control, and a renewed mind. Pray also for godly sorrow which produces repentance. Engage in activities that glorify God and strengthen your relationship with Him. Surround yourself with believers who can support and encourage you. Remember, God sees you as pure and holy because of Jesus' sacrifice.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear one who is struggling with addiction and seeking hope. Lord, we confess the sin of pornography and ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse this heart and mind, and help this one walk in freedom. Give the strength to overcome this addiction and live a life that honors You. Help them to see the world through innocent eyes once again in the name of Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray for purity, self-control, and a renewed mind. Help them to engage in activities that glorify You and strengthen their relationship with You. Surround them with believers who can support and encourage them. And finally in Jesus name, we pray to the only one who can save them.
Amen.
Be assured that through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can overcome this addiction and live a life that honors God. Stay strong in the faith, and never give up hope. As long as you have life, you have hope. Turn to Jesus Christ today.
