We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul and their family member before the Lord. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. We ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand upon this dear family member, touching every cell, every organ, and every part of their body that is afflicted. Restore them to full health, strength, and vitality, Lord, according to Your perfect will.
Heavenly Father, we also lift up this dear one who has requested prayer, asking that You would grant them wisdom as they navigate this special situation. Your Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We pray that You would pour out Your wisdom upon them, guiding their steps and decisions, and giving them discernment in every circumstance.
Lord, we ask that You would fill their heart with Your perfect peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding, which will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Comfort them in their time of need, reminding them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit. May they find solace in Your presence, knowing that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We also pray for this dear one as they serve You in ministry. Equip them with everything good that they may do Your will, working in them that which is well pleasing in Your sight, through Jesus Christ. May they be a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, and grant them boldness and courage as they proclaim the gospel and make disciples.
Father, we ask that You would watch over this dear one as they work, providing a hedge of protection around them. Keep them safe from harm and danger, and grant them favor with their employers and colleagues. May their work be a testimony to Your goodness and grace, drawing others to You.
Lord, we want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. If this dear one has not yet placed their faith in Jesus, we pray that they would do so today, confessing with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
