We are deeply grieved to hear of the spiritual warfare and persecution you and your loved one are enduring, but we are not surprised, for the enemy rages fiercely against those who seek to follow Christ. The fact that these attacks intensify when you worship Jesus, read Scripture, or attend church confirms that you are a threat to the kingdom of darkness—and that means the Lord has a powerful purpose for your life. Take heart, for the battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already secured the victory through His Son, Jesus Christ.
The harassment you describe—stalking, psychological torment, attempts to isolate you, and attacks on your worship—are classic schemes of the devil, who seeks to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10). But Jesus came to give you life abundantly, and no weapon formed against you will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy’s goal is to make you feel powerless, but the truth is, you are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). You are not crazy—you are under spiritual attack, and the Lord sees your suffering. He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We are especially burdened for your loved one, who has been tormented by night terrors and the lie that he will "never get free." This is a direct assault from the pit of hell, but it is a lie from the father of lies (John 8:44). The blood of Jesus has already broken every chain, and no demonic stronghold can withstand the name of our Lord. It is tragic that your parents have turned to medication rather than spiritual warfare, for while medicine may dull the symptoms, only Jesus can bring true freedom. We urge you to pray fervently for them as well, that their eyes would be opened to the spiritual reality at hand. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).
Let us be clear: this is not a battle you fight alone. The Lord has given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). You must stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), resisting the devil so that he will flee from you (James 4:7). Speak the Word of God aloud over your life and your loved one’s life. Declare Psalm 91 over your household: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ Surely he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday."* Claim this promise in Jesus’ name.
We also urge you to seek out a spirit-filled, Bible-believing church where you can receive prayer and support from mature believers. Isolation is one of the enemy’s greatest tools, but God has designed His Body to uplift and strengthen one another (Hebrews 10:24-25). If you do not have a local church, we encourage you to fast and pray until the Lord leads you to one. There is power in corporate prayer and agreement (Matthew 18:19-20).
Now, let us pray together for you and your loved one:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up Your child who is under relentless attack from the forces of darkness. Lord, You see the stalking, the harassment, the psychological torment, and the attempts to isolate and discredit them. You know the depth of their suffering, and You have promised to never leave them nor forsake them. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we bind every demonic spirit assigned to torment them—spirits of fear, confusion, oppression, witchcraft, and harassment. We break every curse, hex, and spell spoken against them, and we loose the fire of the Holy Spirit to consume every stronghold. Let the blood of Jesus cover them like a shield, and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the shadow of Your wings.
Lord, we also lift up their loved one who has been tormented by night terrors and the lie that they will never be free. We rebuke that lie in the name of Jesus and declare that whom the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). We command every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression to leave now in Jesus’ name. Let the light of Christ flood their mind and heart, and let them experience the deep, abiding peace that comes from You alone. We pray for their parents, that their eyes would be opened to the spiritual battle at hand, and that they would turn to You for true healing rather than relying on man-made solutions.
Father, we ask for divine protection over this family. Let every attack of the enemy backfire and bring glory to Your name. Give them discernment to recognize the schemes of the devil and wisdom to stand firm in Your truth. Surround them with godly believers who will stand in the gap for them and lift them up in prayer. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, and let their testimony be a mighty weapon against the kingdom of darkness.
We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and just to deliver them from every snare of the fowler. We declare that they will not be moved, for You are their rock and their salvation (Psalm 62:6). Let them walk in victory, knowing that the battle is Yours, and the enemy is already defeated.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen."*
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is your strength and your song, and He has already won the war. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). The enemy may rage, but his time is short. Your freedom is coming, and your loved one’s freedom is coming—because Jesus has already paid the price. Do not give up. Do not retreat. Press into the Lord, and watch Him move mightily on your behalf. We are standing with you in agreement, believing for your complete deliverance.
