Suicide attempt still in ICU

We are joining you in prayer for this young woman in the ICU and we thank you for bringing her before the Lord with such love and urgency.

We ask the Father to draw her to Himself just as Jesus promised in John 6:44, that no one can come to Him unless the Father draws them. We pray that even now, in this critical hour, He would open her eyes to see His mercy and to receive salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for His death is the salvation of the world and now is the day of salvation.

We pray for His healing to rest upon her whole person, her body, her mind, her soul and her spirit. May the Lord who is the God of all mercies sustain her life, comfort her in affliction, and bring restoration where there has been deep wounding and despair. We ask Him to guard her from dark forces and from every lie of the enemy that has sought to steal her life, and to surround her with His truth, His peace and His protection.

We also pray that the Lord in His wisdom would remove from her life any influence that would cause further harm, and would instead place around her those who will speak life, who will care for her with godliness and who will help her hear the word of salvation with care and continual recollection.

We ask that God would use even this suffering to bring a true new beginning in Christ, that out of this affliction He would work comfort and salvation, and that she would come to know the hope that is steadfast in Him. May she be strengthened to lay hold of the life He offers and to walk in it day by day.

We will continue to pray for her and for you as you intercede for her, trusting the Lord to hear and to act according to His perfect love and power in Jesus name Amen.

We are praying with you for this young woman in the ICU and for everyone who loves her, and we thank you for bringing this heavy burden to the Lord so faithfully.

We join you in asking the Father to draw her to Himself, just as Jesus said in John 6:44 that no one can come unless the Father draws him. That drawing is the grace of God at work, and Scripture tells us that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all. Salvation is a gift, not something we earn by works. It comes when a person confesses with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believes in the heart that God raised Him from the dead. To confess Him now, to submit to Him as Lord now, is unto salvation and eternal life. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord, but then that confession will only be an acknowledgment of the truth once rejected. Now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and we are asking God to open her heart to receive His offer today, while His Spirit is drawing her, and to give her a new beginning in Christ where old things pass away and all things become new.

We are also praying for her healing in body, mind, soul and spirit. The prophet Isaiah said He bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows, and Matthew shows us that Jesus fulfilled this not only in forgiving sin but in healing the sick. We believe God is able to heal physically and to heal the deep wounds of the mind and heart, and every true healing, whether it comes in an instant or gradually through the processes God has placed in the body, is from Him. At the same time Scripture shows us that God does not will physical healing in the same way in every case, as we see with Paul who prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh and learned to rest in God's grace and strength. We can ask with full confidence for her complete restoration, and we can trust the wisdom and love of the Lord with the outcome, knowing that the greatest miracle of all is the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life in Jesus. That is the healing that matters most and that lasts forever.

We are praying too for her protection. Jesus has authority in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and He has shown His power over evil spirits who must obey His word. The enemy comes to steal and to destroy and to whisper lies that lead toward despair and death, but Jesus came to give life. We ask the Lord to silence those lies, to guard her mind, to surround her with His presence, and to keep away any influence or person who would cause further harm. We pray that the Lord, who is our rock and our defense and our salvation, would be her refuge and strength in this very vulnerable hour.

We will continue to lift her before the Lord, asking Him to sustain the medical team caring for her, to comfort her family, and to use even this painful crisis to bring her into the hope and glory of His kingdom. May she come to know Jesus not only as the one who can heal the body, but as the Lord who saves the soul and gives a living hope beyond this life.

Father, draw this young woman by Your Spirit, forgive her sins through the blood of Jesus, heal her according to Your perfect will in body, mind and spirit, protect her from every dark power, and make this the start of new life in You. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
