We are deeply grieved to hear of the suffering your son-in-law is enduring, and we lift him up to the Lord with heavy hearts. The pain of mental anguish can feel unbearable, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy through despair. But we declare that Jesus came so that he may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). The thief has no authority over him, for he is a child of the Most High God, and we stand in the gap for his deliverance and healing.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We ask You to break the chains of darkness that are pressing upon this precious soul. Lord, Your Word says that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We cry out for Your presence to surround him, to fill the voids in his heart, and to remind him that he is deeply loved by You. Let him hear Your voice speaking life over him, drowning out the lies of the enemy that tell him he is worthless or that death is the only escape.
We rebuke the spirit of suicide and depression in Jesus’ name. These are not from You, Lord, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We command every tormenting thought to flee and every stronghold of hopelessness to be demolished by the power of Your Word. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let him feel the warmth of Your love like never before.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for his family as they walk alongside him. Give them patience, compassion, and the right words to speak life and truth into his situation. Guide them to the resources You have provided—godly counselors, medical professionals, and the support of the body of Christ. Remind them that they are not alone in this battle, for You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we ask that You would restore his mind, renew his strength, and draw him closer to You. Let him experience Your healing touch in ways that leave no doubt of Your power and love. Surround him with believers who will pray for him, encourage him, and remind him of Your promises. May he find hope in Your Word, which says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:1-3).
We declare that this trial will not end in destruction but in testimony. We believe that You will turn his mourning into dancing and clothe him with joy (Psalm 30:11). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him rise above this darkness to become a beacon of Your light to others who are struggling.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
