I have a new friend that is in desperate need of prayer. I met him at work about 2 months ago and found out he tried to commit suicide twice back in March and April after his second marriage failed. He has 3 children and is separated from the second wife. The mothers are constantly at him for money, etc. and are extremely cruel to him. It drives him into a deep depression. He is not a Christian and doesn’t believe in heaven or hell. He believes there are many gods and not in the one true God and if he kills himself he will just go to sleep for eternity. I’ve tried to witness to him, but my answers to his questions are not what he wants to hear. He has now been diagnosed with severe depression, bipolar, and a disassociative personality disorder. This alter personality appears when he is upset or defensive and formed, or appeared, during the time of his suicide attempts. He is somewhat able to control the personality from taking control, but it is a personality that is very aggressive, mean, and vulgar. I found out he listens to a lot of death metal music and has horrific nightmares, mostly of people dieing in atrocious ways. I am concerned because he continues to get very depressed and upset quite often and threatens taking pills to kill himself again. He recently revealed that he has a plan to take off to another state Christmas Eve where no one can find him. He will then kill himself before the end of the year. He’s very adamant about this plan and just says he can’t take it any longer and is very tired. I don’t seem to have the words or anything else to help him. He has latched on to me and depends on me for his happiness which I’m scared I’m going to upset him and he will then kill himself at that point. All I know to do is pray. Please pray for this man, Mike.
