We lift up your wife and this precious new life before the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care over both mother and child. The pain she is experiencing is deeply concerning, and we know how helpless it can feel to watch a loved one suffer—especially during such a tender time as pregnancy. Yet we are reminded in Scripture that God is the one who "knit [us] together in [our] mother’s womb" (Psalm 139:13, WEB), and He holds every moment of this child’s formation in His hands. He is the Great Physician, the one who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3) and who promises to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
We urge you to seek immediate medical attention for your wife, as severe stomach pain during pregnancy can be a sign of serious complications that require professional care. God often works through the wisdom and skill of doctors, and we pray He would guide them to provide the right treatment and relief. Do not delay in this—trust in the Lord, but also act with the stewardship He has given you over her well-being.
At the same time, we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to place His healing hand upon her. May He rebuked any sickness or harm in Jesus’ name, for it is written, *"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven"* (James 5:14-15, WEB). We claim this promise over your wife, asking for His mercy and restoration.
We also pray for peace to guard your hearts as you wait upon the Lord. Anxiety and fear can easily creep in during times like these, but we are commanded, *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Cling to this truth, and let your prayers be filled with gratitude even now, for God is good and His love endures forever.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this sister and the child she carries. You are the Author of life, the God who sees and knows every need before we even ask. We ask for Your healing touch upon her body—relieve her pain, Lord, and protect this baby from any harm. Give wisdom to the doctors who attend to her, and let every decision made be guided by Your hand. Calm the fears of this husband and wife, and fill them with Your peace that transcends all understanding. Remind them that You are near, that You hear their cries, and that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory.
If there is any sin or stronghold in their lives that has given the enemy a foothold, we ask that You reveal it and grant them repentance. Let this trial draw them closer to You, Lord, and strengthen their faith as they trust in Your promises. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke any attack of the enemy against this pregnancy in Jesus’ name.
May this child be born healthy and whole, for Your glory, and may this family testify of Your faithfulness in the days to come. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
Brother, we also encourage you to cover your home in prayer, speaking life and protection over your wife and child. Pray together as a couple, and let this time draw you both into deeper dependence on the Lord. If there are any areas of unconfessed sin or disobedience in your lives, now is the time to repent and seek His forgiveness, for *"the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry"* (Psalm 34:15, WEB).
Stand firm in faith, and do not waver. The Lord is with you, and He will see you through this. Keep us updated on her condition so we may continue to lift her up in prayer.
