We lift up this dear brother, a Vietnam veteran, before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion and faith. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne. We thank You for the sacrifice this man has made for his country, and we ask that You watch over him as he faces this surgery.
Lord, we pray for the hands of the surgeons and the entire medical team at the VA hospital. Guide them with Your wisdom and steady their hands with Your strength. We declare that this surgery will be successful, and that You will bring healing and restoration to his body. "Heal me, O Lord, and I will be healed; save me, and I will be saved, for You are my praise" (Jeremiah 17:14). We trust in Your healing power, Lord, and we ask that You calm any fears or anxieties he may have as he prepares for this procedure.
We also pray for his wife, Lord. Strengthen her faith and give her peace as she waits for her husband. Surround them both with Your love and comfort, reminding them that You are with them every step of the way. "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, we know that this brother has many medical conditions, and we ask that You bring healing to every part of his body. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity in the name of Jesus and declare that his body will respond to the care and treatment he receives. We pray for a smooth recovery, Lord, and that he will be able to return home to his wife soon.
Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in his life, we ask that You bring it to light so that he may repent and receive Your forgiveness. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that his heart is fully surrendered to You, and that he finds his strength and hope in Christ alone.
We also want to encourage this brother to place his trust fully in You, Lord. The world may offer many solutions, but true healing and peace come only from You. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We pray that he will lean on You during this time and find comfort in Your promises.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You bless this veteran abundantly. May he feel Your presence in a powerful way as he recovers, and may his testimony bring glory to Your name. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust in Your perfect will for his life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
