We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is facing major surgery today. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and restores. We ask for Your mighty hand to guide the surgeons, nurses, and all medical staff involved in this procedure. Grant them wisdom, skill, and steady hands as they work. May the surgery be successful in every way, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard this beloved one’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we pray for a smooth and swift recovery. You tell us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* We claim this promise over this situation, trusting in Your power to restore health and strength. We ask that You would minimize pain, prevent complications, and speed up the healing process. Surround this one with Your comfort and presence, especially during the six weeks of recovery ahead.
We also lift up the practical concerns that come with being out of work for an extended time. Father, You are our Provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness to meet every need. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We pray for financial provision, peace of mind, and the ability to rest in Your care during this season. Help this one to lean on You and on the support of loved ones, knowing that You are working all things together for good.
Lord, if there is any fear or anxiety in this one’s heart, we ask that You would replace it with Your perfect peace. Isaiah 41:10 says, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* Let this truth sink deep into their spirit. Remind them that You are with them every step of the way, holding them up with Your righteous right hand.
We also want to take a moment to acknowledge the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. John 14:6 tells us, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* We are so grateful for the sacrifice of Jesus, who made a way for us to be in relationship with You. If this dear one does not yet know You as their personal Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of vulnerability would draw them closer to You. May they experience Your love and grace in a powerful way.
Heavenly Father, we commit this surgery and recovery into Your hands. We trust in Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. May Your will be done in every detail, and may this one come through this trial stronger in faith and closer to You. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
