Thank you for sharing this need and being honest about the pain you are feeling. I am praying for you now that the swelling in your eye would go down and that the soreness would ease quickly.
Living in this fallen world means our bodies are subject to weakness and pain. That pain is not necessarily a direct punishment from God, and your discomfort does not mean He is displeased with you. It is part of the brokenness that came into the world through sin, and Scripture speaks of how we groan in these bodies as we long for the wholeness God will one day bring. He sees your discomfort and He cares about it, even when it seems small to others.
I believe God still heals, and I believe every true healing comes from Him. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes He heals gradually through the natural processes He Himself placed in our bodies. That gradual recovery is no less divine, because He is the one who created our bodies and the way they mend. He is not limited to one pattern. In the Gospels Jesus healed in different ways, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with a word, sometimes from a distance, and once with a gradual healing where sight returned in stages. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some find relief very quickly and others more slowly, but we can trust His wisdom and His love as we ask.
The prophet Isaiah said the Messiah would bear our infirmities and carry our sicknesses, and Matthew tells us Jesus fulfilled that in His ministry of healing. We come to Him on that basis, with confidence in His compassion.
So I pray, Father, in the name of Jesus, please touch this eye and bring relief from pain. Cause the swelling to go down, bring healing whether quickly or through the natural healing You have built into the body, and give comfort and peace while waiting. Give wisdom for any care that is needed and let Your presence be felt in a very personal way. Amen.
