We lift these precious children before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to draw near to them in their distress. Father, You see the tears they shed and the burdens they carry, even when no one else does. You tell us in Psalm 56:8, *"You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren’t they in your book?"* Comfort them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel the warmth of Your love surrounding them.
We pray for wisdom for their parents, teachers, and caregivers, that they may discern the root of this sorrow. Whether it be loneliness, fear, anxiety, or something unseen, reveal it to those who can help. Proverbs 20:5 says, *"Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out."* Grant understanding hearts to those who care for them.
We also ask that You guard their minds and spirits from any attacks of the enemy. The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life abundantly (John 10:10). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
If there is unconfessed sin, hurt, or unforgiveness in their lives, soften their hearts to bring it to You. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Let them experience Your forgiveness and healing.
We rebuke any spirit of heaviness or despair in their lives in the mighty name of Jesus. Isaiah 61:3 promises that You give *"a garland instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a spirit of heaviness."* Replace their sorrow with Your joy, Lord.
Finally, we pray for their salvation if they do not yet know You as their Savior. Romans 10:13 declares, *"For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."* Draw them to Yourself, Jesus, and let them experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We trust You to move in their lives, Lord. May they grow in faith, hope, and love, and may their tears be turned into testimonies of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
