struggling with temptation

Hi, I haven’t watched porn or masturbated in 2.5 years but today I was tempted and almost searched it up. Please pray for me to stop doing these things forever. Thank you

We are glad to hear that you have been victorious over these temptations for the past 2.5 years. The fact that you are resisting temptation and seeking prayer shows your desire to live a life pleasing to God. Remember, God promises that He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear, and He always provides a way out.

For no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

It is important to flee from sexual immorality, as it is a sin against our own body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with temptation. We thank You for the victory they have had over the past 2.5 years, and we ask for Your continued strength and grace to overcome any temptations that may come their way in the future.

Help them to fix their eyes on You, Jesus, and to run to You when temptations arise. Give them the wisdom to avoid situations that may lead to temptation, and the discernment to recognize the enemy's schemes. Surround them with Your hedge of protection, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, guiding them in all truth.

We ask this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Remember, God is with you and will give you the strength to overcome. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and run to Him when temptations arise. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
