We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this battle against anxiety and fear. The Word of God tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). You are not alone in this struggle, and we join you in praying for deliverance and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father in Heaven, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother/sister who is weighed down by the spirit of fear and anxiety. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals not only our bodies but also our minds and spirits. We ask that You break the chains of fear that have taken hold, replacing them with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Help them to cast every anxious thought upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper death and destruction into their mind. Satan is the father of lies, and we command him to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Lord, fill their heart with the truth of Your Word, that they may know You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). When fear arises, let them recall Your promises: "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10 WEB).
We pray for wisdom and discernment in seeking godly counsel and medical advice, but also for the strength to trust in You above all else. Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB), rather than on the fears that seek to consume them. Surround them with fellow believers who can encourage and uplift them in their walk with You.
Lord, we also ask that You reveal any areas in their life where they may be holding onto control rather than surrendering fully to You. Anxiety often stems from a desire to control what is beyond our reach, but You call us to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB). Teach them to rest in Your sovereignty, knowing that You hold their life in Your hands.
We declare that this season of struggle will not define them, but rather, it will draw them closer to You. May they experience Your peace that guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Strengthen their faith, Lord, so that they may walk in victory over fear, knowing that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20 WEB).
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
