struggle

We understand that you are going through a difficult time, and we want to come alongside you in prayer and support. It’s clear that your struggle is heavy on your heart, and we want to lift you up before the Lord, who sees your pain and promises to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

First and foremost, if you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If you are carrying this burden without the hope of Christ, we urge you to surrender your life to Him, repent of your sins, and invite Him into your heart. Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only through His grace that we can find true peace and strength.

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is struggling. You know the depths of their pain, the weight of their burden, and the battles they are facing. Lord, we ask that You would draw near to them in this time of need. Wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them that they are never alone, for You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way.

We rebuke any spirit of despair, fear, or hopelessness that may be trying to take hold of their heart. In the name of Jesus, we command these lies to flee, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Lord, replace their struggles with Your strength, their doubts with Your truth, and their weariness with Your rest.

If this struggle involves sin—whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, addiction, sexual immorality, or any other area where they may have strayed from Your will—we pray that You would bring conviction and lead them to repentance. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Help them to turn away from anything that displeases You and to walk in the freedom that comes from obedience to Your Word.

If this struggle is related to relationships, we pray that You would guide them according to Your will. If they are seeking a spouse, Lord, we ask that You would prepare their heart to be the godly husband or wife You have called them to be. Let them not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), but instead, lead them to someone who loves You and desires to honor You in their marriage. If they are in a relationship that does not align with Your Word—whether it be premarital intimacy, an unbiblical union, or any other form of disobedience—we pray that You would give them the courage to walk away and seek Your best for their life.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment. Your Word tells us that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask You, and You will give it generously (James 1:5). Guide them in every decision they face, and let Your Holy Spirit lead them into all truth (John 16:13). Help them to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We declare over them that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will work all things together for their good because they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen them with Your might, Lord, and let them rise above every challenge with faith and perseverance.

Finally, we pray that they would fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they find their hope and identity in Him alone, knowing that in their weakness, His power is made perfect (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround them with godly community—believers who will encourage them, pray for them, and walk with them through this season.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We trust that You are working in this situation, even when we cannot see it, and we declare that Your will be done in their life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're asking Him to fill you with His peace, to comfort you in your struggles, and to give you the strength to keep going.
