We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you in this battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace. The struggle with pornography is a very real and destructive one, but we serve a God who is greater than any addiction, and who offers freedom to all who come to Him in repentance and faith.

The Bible warns us clearly about the dangers of sexual immorality. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, it says, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Pornography is a sin against your own body and the temple of the Holy Spirit. It distorts God’s design for intimacy, which is meant to be shared exclusively between a husband and wife in the covenant of marriage. It also enslaves the mind, hardens the heart, and separates us from the purity and holiness that God calls us to.

We must also rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this struggle is too shameful to bring before God or that you are beyond His grace. That is not true. 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God is not surprised by your struggle, and He does not turn away from a repentant heart. However, repentance is not just feeling sorry, it is turning away from sin and walking in obedience. This means taking practical steps to remove temptation, such as installing accountability software, avoiding triggers, and seeking godly counsel.

We also want to address the root of this struggle. Often, pornography is used to fill a void, loneliness, stress, boredom, or even unmet emotional needs. But only God can truly satisfy the longings of our hearts. Psalm 107:9 says, "For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good." Instead of turning to pornography, we must turn to God in prayer, worship, and His Word to find true fulfillment.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is struggling with pornography. Lord, we know that this addiction has taken a toll on his spirit, mind, and body, but we also know that You are the God who sets the captives free. We ask that You break the chains of this sin in his life. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to flee from it. Father, we pray for a renewed mind, that he would take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Surround him with godly accountability and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in purity and holiness.

Lord, we ask that You heal any wounds or emptiness that may have led him to this sin. Fill him with Your love, peace, and joy so that he no longer seeks counterfeit comforts. Help him to see himself as You see him, a beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, and called to live a life that honors You. We declare that he is not defined by his struggles but by Your grace and power at work within him.

We also pray for a heart of repentance and a deep hunger for Your Word. May he find his satisfaction in You alone. Father, we ask that You restore what has been broken and renew his mind with truth. Give him the courage to seek help and the humility to receive it. We trust in Your promise that he who began a good work in him will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing that freedom is possible because of Your power. Amen.

We encourage you to take this battle seriously and to seek help from trusted Christian brothers, a pastor, or a counselor who can walk with you in this journey. You are not alone, and victory is possible through Christ. James 4:7-8 says, "Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." Keep drawing near to God, and He will draw near to you. Your freedom is worth fighting for.

That you’re reaching out for help tells us something important, you’re not giving up, and that matters. Many people feel ashamed when they fight this battle, and shame loves isolation. So simply bringing this into the light is a real step forward, even if you don’t feel like it yet.

We know the grip of pornography can feel overpowering, and the cycle of resolve, failure, guilt, and renewed resolve is exhausting. Freedom grows best when we let trusted people walk with us in it. If you don't already have someone who knows about this struggle, we'd gently encourage you to find a mature Christian friend or a small support group where you can speak honestly and receive prayer without fear. Many churches host or know of groups for just this, places where the secrecy loses its power and you begin to heal in community. A Christian counselor who understands sexual addiction can also be a tremendous help, bringing both clinical insight and spiritual grounding to your journey.

You asked for God’s help, and that’s the right place to rest right now. His mercy meets you in the middle of this, not after you’ve got it all sorted out. We're praying with you for both real change and the deep reassurance that you are loved while you're still in the thick of it.

Lord Jesus, you see this struggle and you know every hidden battle. Give this person the courage to reach for help and the peace that comes from trusting you with their whole life. Break the patterns that feel too strong, and surround them with safe, godly people who will walk this road faithfully. Lead them to whatever resources and relationships will nurture lasting freedom. In your name we pray, amen.

The goodness of God, who has endured your wanderings and not cut you off, ought to lead you to repentance at this very hour. Every mercy you have tasted while coddling this secret shame is a trumpet call to turn, declaring that He is not hard and unwilling to forgive, but rather the God of all patience. Let your sin, seen in the light of His countenance, break your heart, not with a mere bitter regret that groans under consequences, but with that sweeter, purer sorrow which owns the wound given to Love itself.

True repentance is no shallow trembling. It is that grace of the Spirit which gives God glory by ejecting the sin as an evil tenant and admitting Christ to be the sole master of the heart. Question your own soul: does your repentance lead you to look entirely out of self and to Christ only? Saving repentance weeps and abhors the past because of the love of Christ that has pardoned it, and it makes you avoid present sin for the very reason that He died for you. Beware of a mere pain over your fall that drives good thoughts from the mind, that is not repentance, but a hindrance.

Remember the pedigree of sin: when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin, and sin finished brings forth death. Charity and purity are the twin garments of the faith; you dare not let purity go down while doing some outward charitable office. Any sin loved and clung to will bring forth death in the soul. Yet this is not meant to drive you to despair. The very gospel we preach ordains that repentance and remission of sins be proclaimed in Jesus’ name. It is His gift. Come, needy one, and welcome. Cast this foul thing upon Him who overcomes evil with good; overcome His heart with the cry, “Help me to quit it now, for Jesus’ sake!” Then rise, for He will give you the mastery.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. Do not imagine that your struggle is something strange or that you are alone in it. The temptation that seizes you is such as is common to man. God is faithful, and He will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. What then is that way? It is to flee to Him at once, to cry out with tears, to cling to His mercy as a child clings to its mother’s bosom. He permits the trial to sharpen your soul, not to cast you down. As a loving father trains his child by letting him walk in rough places, so that the child may cling all the tighter to his hand, God allows these assaults so that you may run to Him without ceasing.

Yet you must not only run to Him but also wage war with all your strength. For this is the chief of sins born of violent lust, and it has ruined countless souls. But remember the harlots of old: not as harlots did they enter the kingdom, but having believed, repented, and been purified, they were made righteous. So turn from every impure image, every secret glance. Guard your eyes, for they are the windows of the soul, and whatever enters there kindles the fire within. If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out, not the eye of flesh, but the wicked desire that looks out through it. Starve the beast, and it will weaken. Feed it, and it will devour you.

And do not think that because you have fallen, God has cast you off. It is God that justifies; who then shall condemn? Christ died for you, and not only died but now intercedes for you before the Father. Let no pride whisper that your sin is too great. That very thought is a snare of the evil one: “Every one that is proud in heart is unclean before God.” Pride either puffs you up to deny the sin or plunges you into despair as if Christ’s blood were not enough. Flee both. Be meek and tremble at His words, for on that humble soul God looks with favor. Confess often, weep much, and reach out to the remedies the Church provides: prayer, fasting, the counsel of a faithful brother, and above all the holy mysteries where Christ Himself heals the defiled soul.

The road will be long, and the tempter will not rest. But know that even the saints gained their crowns through tribulations and temptations. Job shone more brightly afterward. Joseph fled from the adulterous woman and won a glory that shines to this day. Paul was given a thorn, a messenger of Satan to buffet him, and when he begged to be rid of it, the Lord said, “My grace is sufficient for you.” So it will be with you. Do not grow weary in prayer; though you seem not to receive at once, persevere. The delay is itself a gift, teaching you to hold fast to God alone. For He is faithful, and He will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able. Rise, then, and go to battle again, not trusting in your own resolve but in the power of Him who overcame the world.
