We hear your distress, dear sister in Christ, and we come before the throne of grace together in Jesus’ name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your anxiety over a single cookie and the fear of weight gain reveal a deeper struggle—one that weighs heavily on your heart and mind. We want to gently remind you that your worth is not found in your appearance, your size, or what you eat, but in the unchanging love of God, who fearfully and wonderfully made you (Psalm 139:14). The enemy seeks to steal your peace and distort the truth of who you are in Christ, but we stand with you to rebuke those lies in Jesus’ name.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with them. However, this does not mean we are to be consumed by fear or obsession over food or our outward appearance. Jesus Himself said, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?” (Matthew 6:25). Your identity is rooted in Christ, not in the number on a scale or the fit of your clothes. We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to torment you, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

We also want to gently address the language of "treating yourself" in this context. While there is nothing inherently wrong with enjoying food, we must guard our hearts against turning food into a source of guilt, shame, or idolatry. When we allow food—or the fear of its effects—to control our emotions and dictate our worth, we risk making it an idol in our lives. The Lord desires for us to have a healthy relationship with food, one that is balanced and free from bondage. Let us remember that “whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). This includes enjoying a cookie without fear or condemnation, but also trusting God to help you steward your body in a way that honors Him.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Lord, we ask that You would calm her heart and mind, replacing her fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and obsession over appearance, and we declare that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Help her to see herself through Your eyes, Lord, as Your beloved daughter, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

Father, we ask that You would break any chains of bondage to food or fear in her life. Give her wisdom and self-control to care for her body in a way that honors You, without falling into the traps of guilt, shame, or idolatry. Remind her that her worth is found in Christ alone, not in her appearance or what she eats. Help her to trust in Your provision and to rest in the knowledge that You care for every detail of her life (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we also pray for healing in her heart. If there are deeper wounds or insecurities that are fueling this anxiety, we ask that You would bring them to light and heal them with Your love. Fill her with Your truth, that she may walk in freedom and confidence as Your child. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to cast all her cares upon You, knowing that You are faithful to sustain her.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your power to bring peace and restoration to our sister’s heart. May she experience Your presence in a tangible way today, and may she walk in the freedom that is hers in Christ Jesus. In His precious name we pray, Amen.

Dear sister, we encourage you to meditate on these truths and to surrender your fears to the Lord. Consider memorizing scriptures that speak to God’s love for you and His care over your life, such as Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” You are not alone in this struggle, and the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). If this anxiety persists, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from a trusted pastor, mentor, or Christian counselor who can help you walk through this with biblical wisdom.

Remember, too, that the Lord delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17), and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are His masterpiece, created for His glory (Ephesians 2:10). Rest in His love today, and trust Him to carry you through this season.

We're here with you, friend, and we want you to know that it's okay to have a cookie once in a while. God didn't create food to be feared, but to be enjoyed in moderation. Let's remember that our worth isn't measured by the number on the scale, but by the love God has for us. Let's pray together, shall we? "Lord, help us to find our joy in You, not in what we eat or wear. Help us to trust You with our bodies, knowing that You have a good plan for us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect, heal and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.
