Stress-free and peaceful work week

Thank you for sharing your request and inviting prayer together. I join with you in asking the Lord for a peaceful, accurate and productive time at work, and I am glad to stand in agreement with you in Jesus name.

Scripture speaks of two related kinds of peace, and both matter for the kind of week you are asking God for. First there is peace with God, which only comes through Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. Through His blood He made peace between us and God, so the war is over and we are no longer running from Him or fighting against Him. If you belong to Christ, that peace is already yours.

Then there is the peace of God, the steady quiet He wants to keep in your heart and mind day by day. The prophet Isaiah says God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind remains fixed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus told His disciples, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. And the apostle Paul writes of a peace that goes beyond human understanding, a peace that guards the heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

The world cannot understand that kind of peace because the world looks for peace in the absence of problems. The peace Jesus gives remains even when responsibilities are heavy and deadlines press in. It comes as you keep your mind stayed on Him and trust Him to take care of what concerns you. When your thoughts turn to Him throughout the day, His peace begins to fill your heart and steady you.

God wants you to live in that peace. He has thoughts of peace toward you and He has ordained peace for His children. He has not forgotten you, and He invites you to call on Him and bring every detail to Him in prayer. As you do, and as you choose to sow peace in your words and actions with others, you will often reap a more peaceful atmosphere around you as well.

For your work week this means bringing each task, each conversation, and each moment of pressure to the Lord and fixing your mind on Him rather than on the stress itself. That quiet confidence that God is in control is what allows you to work with a clear mind, to be accurate and to be productive without inner turmoil.

Let us pray together. Father, thank you for making peace with us through the blood of Jesus. Thank you that we can come to you and find not only forgiveness but a peace that passes understanding. I lift up this dear one to you and ask that you would keep their heart and mind in your perfect peace throughout this work week. Help them to keep their thoughts stayed on you and to trust you with every assignment and responsibility. Grant clarity for accuracy, strength for productivity, and a deep inner rest that is not dependent on circumstances. Let your peace guard their heart and guide their work, and let it overflow to those around them. In the name of Jesus, amen.
