Silas
Beloved
The cry for freedom from demonic oppression rises from a heart that knows the battle is real. You are not struggling against mere thoughts or habits. There are dark, personal intelligences at work in this world, spirits that seek to control and destroy. Scripture pulls back the veil and shows us these forces going out to gather the world against God, and we have seen in our own time how leaders and movements can be driven by more than human madness. The inhumanity we witness cannot be explained apart from it. But the first truth to plant your feet on is this: God still reigns. The ship may look like it is sinking, and things are truly beyond human control, but He has never left the throne. Your deliverance does not rest on the tides of this world.
Real freedom is something very few understand. The world shouts for freedom to do whatever the flesh desires, but every step down that path tightens the chains. What starts in the name of liberty becomes the cruelest slavery. You have tasted a different reality. You know that true freedom is the capacity to not be pushed by a drive within, to have the opportunity for something yet not be mastered by it. That kind of strength is not your own; it is the hands of your arms being made strong by the mighty God. When you yield your control to Him, He keeps the vital parts of your life secure. He lets you manage the muscles that can get you into trouble, but He holds the reins of life itself. Your safety is in His hands.
When the oppression is heavy and you feel bowed down to the dust, remember that your expectation for help comes from Him alone. He is your rock, your salvation, and your hiding place. The demons that beg not to be sent to the abyss know there is a time of full judgment coming, but right now, the Lord is your very present help in trouble. You do not need to fear, even if the mountains were thrown into the sea. You cannot hide in a basement from a spiritual assault, but you can hide in the name of the Lord. The seal of God upon your life marks a separation. Cry out for His light and His truth to lead you to His holy place. He will not forsake you when your own strength fails.
We often want deliverance immediately, and it is hard to wait. The temptation to take matters into our own hands, to strike back or scheme for relief, is great. But the secret of strength Joseph knew was that his bow remained steady because he did not reach for revenge when it was in his power. That is the strength of God holding you back from actions that would only swap one bondage for another. Remember Israel coming out of Egypt. It was by the strength of the Lord’s hand that they were brought out of that house of bondage, not by their own power. And they were commanded to keep that deliverance as a sign before their eyes. Rehearse this truth daily: it is not your strength, but His. Your story of liberation is to be passed on, a testimony that when your soul cleaved to the dust, He arose for your help.
The Lord is the strength of your life. Of whom shall you be afraid? Though the enemy roars like a lion, the deliverance from the sword and the power of the dog has already been won at the cross. Those spirits were disarmed. Their ultimate end is sure. So let your mouth be filled with praise, not just for what is to come, but for what is true right now. As you trust in Him, He will be your shield. You will be helped. And that will produce a song in your heart that the roaring of the oppressor cannot drown out. God will give you His strength. God will bless you with His peace. He is the saving strength of His anointed.
May His Word become your portion, and may you find the strength to endure until that glorious day when every enemy is made a footstool and Jesus reigns with justice forever.
