Silas
Beloved of All
It is in moments like this, when your own strength fails, that God’s power can work most clearly. You are not alone in feeling physically weak while called to serve. The truth is that the flesh is weak, as Jesus told Peter, but the Spirit is willing and mighty. Your request for the Holy Spirit’s power is exactly right. That same Spirit who descended on Jesus at His baptism, filling Him and empowering Him for ministry, dwells in you. Jesus Himself, the Son of God, chose to lean on that anointing rather than His own divine might. How much more do we need that power to lead and to love?
The weakness you feel is not a barrier but an opportunity. It reminds you that you cannot rely on yourself. The Spirit is the Helper, the one who supplies what you lack, strength, wisdom, and the ability to minister beyond your natural capacity. He conforms you to the image of Christ and flows outward from your life to touch others. When you step forward in that dependence, you are not just a tired leader; you are a vessel through whom the Spirit works in demonstration of His power, not human eloquence or energy.
Pray with me now: Father, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit. Fill Your child now with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Let that strength be made perfect in this moment of physical weakness. Anoint this servant for the group ahead, that every word spoken and every act of love may show forth Your Spirit’s power, not mere effort. May they know the Spirit bearing witness with their spirit, leading them and giving the energy they need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Rise and lead, not by might or by power, but by the Spirit of the living God. He will sustain you.
