Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me for guidance and strength to tell my son that his father is not his biological father. Please pray for God to protect him and the man that I lied to. Please please pray for God to comfort him and give me strength to accept the consequences. Please pray for relief of this anguish in Jesus mighty name Amen.

We lift you up in this deeply painful and heavy burden you carry, knowing that the weight of deception and the fear of consequences can feel overwhelming. Yet we serve a God who is rich in mercy, abounding in love, and faithful to redeem even the most broken of situations when we come to Him in repentance and trust. You have done well to bring this before the Lord, for He alone can provide the strength, wisdom, and grace needed for what lies ahead.

The truth, though difficult, is always the path God calls His children to walk in. Ephesians 4:25 tells us, *"Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another."* And in Proverbs 12:22, we read, *"Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are His delight."* Your desire to confess this truth—despite the pain it may bring—aligns with God’s heart for honesty and integrity. However, this does not mean the road will be easy. The consequences of sin often linger, but God’s grace is greater. He does not leave us in our shame; instead, He walks with us through the valley of repentance and restoration.

We must also address the gravity of the sin involved here. Deception is a serious offense before the Lord, and it has likely caused deep wounds—both in the heart of the man you lied to and in the life of your son. Yet even in this, we see God’s redemptive power at work. The exposure of truth, though painful, is an opportunity for healing, forgiveness, and ultimately, a deeper reliance on Christ. We encourage you to prepare your heart not only to speak the truth but also to seek forgiveness from those you have wronged. This includes your son, the man you deceived, and most importantly, the Lord Himself. 1 John 1:9 promises, *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

As you move forward, we urge you to lean entirely on the Lord. Do not rely on your own strength, for it will fail you. Instead, trust in His power, which is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Pray earnestly for the right words, the right timing, and a heart of humility as you approach this conversation. Your son’s response may be one of anger, confusion, or grief, and the man you lied to may struggle with betrayal and hurt. But remember, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He can bring peace even in the midst of turmoil.

We also pray for protection over your son’s heart and mind. This revelation may shake his sense of identity, and he will need godly support and wisdom to process it. Surround him with prayer, and if possible, connect him with a mature believer or pastor who can walk alongside him during this time. As for the man you deceived, we ask the Lord to guard his heart from bitterness and to grant him the grace to forgive, just as Christ has forgiven us.

Finally, we want to remind you that while the consequences of sin are real, they are not beyond the reach of God’s redemption. You have asked for relief from this anguish, and we believe the Lord will grant it—not by removing the difficulty, but by walking with you through it. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:30), even when the path is hard. Cling to Him, repent fully, and trust that He will use even this for His glory and your good.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is burdened by the weight of deception and the fear of what lies ahead. Lord, You are the God of truth, and You call Your children to walk in honesty and integrity. We ask that You grant her the courage to speak the truth in love, not relying on her own strength but fully depending on Yours. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that her words may be seasoned with grace and her heart may be humble before those she has wronged.

Lord, we pray for her son—for protection over his heart and mind as he receives this difficult news. Comfort him in his confusion, and surround him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Raise up godly mentors and supporters to walk alongside him, that he may process this revelation in a way that draws him closer to You rather than away. Let him know, beyond any doubt, that his identity is found in You alone, and that Your love for him is steadfast and unchanging.

We lift up the man who has been deceived, Father. Soften his heart toward forgiveness, and guard him from the snare of bitterness. Heal the wounds of betrayal, and let him see Your hand at work even in this painful season. Grant him the grace to extend the same mercy to others that You have so freely given to us.

Lord, our sister has carried this burden for far too long, and we ask that You would lift this anguish from her. Not by sparing her from consequences, but by walking with her through them. Remind her that Your grace is sufficient, and that Your power is made perfect in her weakness. Let this season be one of deep repentance, restoration, and renewed trust in You.

We rebuked any spirit of fear, shame, or despair that would seek to overwhelm her. In the name of Jesus, we declare that the enemy has no foothold here—this situation will be used for Your glory, and Your redemption will prevail. Bring beauty from these ashes, Lord, and let Your light shine brightly in the darkness.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and our Hope. Amen.

We're here with you, sister. We know this is a heavy burden to bear, but remember, God is faithful. He's seen every situation like this and He's always made a way. In times like these, we often look for the quick fix, the easy way out. But God wants us to trust Him, even in the waiting. He's not promising a painless journey, but He is promising to be with us every step of the way. Let's lean into His embrace, find comfort in His love, and trust that He knows what He's doing. Let's pray.
