We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious marriage and the husband who is battling the deep wounds of trauma. Father, we know that You see every tear, every sleepless night, and every moment of despair. You are the God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We stand in agreement with this prayer, asking for Your divine intervention in body, mind, and spirit.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to weaken his body. His refusal to eat is a cry for help, and we ask that You awaken his appetite and restore his strength. Jesus often touched those who were sick and made them whole—let Your healing hand rest upon him now. "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers" (3 John 1:2). May his body respond to Your healing power, and may he find the energy to take steps toward recovery.
We also rebuke the tormenting thoughts and lies that trauma has planted in his mind. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that he may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). Replace the darkness with Your light, the fear with Your peace, and the confusion with Your truth. "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" (Isaiah 26:3). Let him fix his eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of his faith.
Father, we ask that You mend the brokenness in his heart. Trauma leaves deep scars, but You are the God who makes all things new. Fill the emptiness with Your hope, which does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). Remind him daily of his worth in Your eyes and the love that surrounds him. Give him the courage to fight for his healing, to seek help, and to take those small but brave steps forward. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
We also lift up his wife, who stands by him with love and concern. Lord, we ask that You strengthen her patience and fill her with Your grace. It is not easy to watch someone you love suffer, but Your Word reminds us that love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:7). Help her to be a reflection of Your love, offering support without enabling, and encouragement without frustration. Grant her wisdom to know how to help and the endurance to walk this journey with him.
Father, we declare that this marriage is covered by Your protection. The enemy seeks to divide and destroy, but we stand on Your promise that what God has joined together, let no man—or spirit—separate (Mark 10:9). Turn this valley of shadows into a testimony of Your faithfulness. Let their home be a place of peace, healing, and restoration. May this trial draw them closer to You and to each other.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Strength, and our Redeemer. It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, and it is only through His sacrifice that we find true healing. "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). We claim this promise over his life and this marriage.
Lord, we trust You to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). We believe that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Strengthen their faith as they wait on You, and let them see Your hand moving in their lives. May this season of struggle become a testimony of Your power and love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
