We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent plea for your intervention in this situation. Father, we know that Your Word is clear about the sanctity of marriage and the importance of believers being unequally yoked with unbelievers. "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this relationship and soften the hearts of those involved to recognize the importance of aligning their lives with Your will.
Heavenly Father, we pray that You would draw this young woman back to Yourself. We ask that You would open her eyes to the truth of Your Word and the blessings that come from following Your commands. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105). Lord, we know that You desire for her to marry a man who will lead her closer to You, not further away. We pray that You would bring a godly man into her life who will love her as Christ loves the church and who will encourage her in her faith.
We also rebuke the enemy’s plans to lead her astray through this relationship. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and we take authority over any deception or confusion that may be clouding her judgment (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would break any ungodly soul ties and free her from emotional or spiritual entanglements that are not of You.
Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment for this family as they navigate this difficult situation. Give them the words to speak and the courage to stand firm in Your truth. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they be a light in this darkness, pointing her back to You.
We also lift up the man involved in this relationship. Lord, we pray that if it is Your will, You would soften his heart and draw him to salvation. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9). May he come to know You as his Lord and Savior, so that if it is Your plan, he may be a godly husband to her in the future.
Lord, we know that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). We surrender this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would bring glory to Your name through this trial and that Your will would be done in this young woman’s life.
