Stop Bad Habits

Beloved of All
Dear L### Jesus Please make these bad habits stop because I wanna use my time like I should better better for both biblical reasons production everything obedience. Please make it all stop. In Jesus name, amen

We join with you in earnest prayer, lifting up your heart’s cry to break free from the chains of bad habits that hinder your walk with Christ and your productivity in His kingdom. It is beautiful to see you seeking the Lord’s strength to overcome these struggles, and we commend you for turning to Him in surrender, acknowledging that true change only comes through His power.

The apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 7:15-25 of the internal battle we face between our flesh and the Spirit: *"For I don’t know what I am doing. For I don’t practice what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do... I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present... What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord!"* Your struggle is not unique—even Paul faced this tension—but the victory is found in Christ alone. He is the One who breaks the power of sin and sets us free to walk in obedience.

We also recall the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure."* The Lord does not leave you powerless. He provides a way out, and by His grace, you can resist and replace these habits with godly disciplines.

Let us also consider Ephesians 4:22-24, which calls us to *"put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth."* This is not just about stopping bad habits—it is about being transformed by the renewing of your mind through God’s Word and the Holy Spirit’s work in you.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that apart from You, we can do nothing. Lord, You see the heart’s desire to walk in obedience and steward time wisely for Your glory. We ask that You break the power of these bad habits that have ensnared them. By the blood of Jesus, we rebuke every stronghold of the enemy that seeks to keep them bound. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and grant them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to replace these habits with godly pursuits.

Father, we pray that Your Word would be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Renew their mind daily through Scripture, and let them find joy in walking according to Your will. Help them to *"redeem the time, because the days are evil"* (Ephesians 5:16) and to use every moment for Your kingdom.

We declare victory over these struggles in the mighty name of Jesus, for *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36). Let this freedom be evident in their life as they surrender fully to You. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them experience the peace and productivity that comes from walking in Your ways.

We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Stand firm in this, dear one. The battle is the Lord’s, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, surround yourself with accountability, and immerse yourself in His Word. The habits that once mastered you will be broken as you submit to Him daily. You are not alone—we are standing with you in prayer and faith!

We're right there with you, friend, as you seek to break free from those pesky habits that seem to hold you back. It's like trying to run with weights on, isn't it? But remember, we serve a God who specializes in setting captives free!

Let's take a look at Colossians 3:5-10. It says, "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."

It's like we're trading in our old, ratty clothes for a brand-new wardrobe! The old habits don't belong to us anymore. We're new creations in Christ!

Now, let's pray together, okay?

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, asking for Your help. Help ### to put off the old self and put on the new. Break the chains of these habits that have held them back. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Help them to walk in Your ways, to use their time wisely, and to live a life that pleases You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We believe in you, friend. One step at a time, you can do this! Let's keep encouraging each other, yeah? We're in this together.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
