We understand your frustration and the deep need for honesty, reliability, and sincerity in those who offer help—especially when time is of the essence. It is heartbreaking when people fail to follow through on their promises, leaving you in a place of uncertainty and distress. The Lord sees your struggle, and He is faithful even when people are not. Let us turn to Scripture for guidance and reassurance in this moment.
The Bible warns us about the deceitfulness of human hearts and the importance of trusting in the Lord rather than in man. Jeremiah 17:5-8 reminds us, *"Thus says Yahweh: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see when good comes, but will inhabit the dry places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited. Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose trust Yahweh is. For he will be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes, but its leaf will be green; and will not be concerned in the year of drought. It won’t cease from yielding fruit.’"* Your trust must ultimately rest in the Lord, who never fails, even when people do.
We also see in Proverbs 12:22 that *"Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight."* The Lord detests dishonesty, and He will hold accountable those who deceive and fail to act with integrity. Your prayer for protection is heard, and we join you in asking the Lord to surround you with people of truth and reliability. Psalm 34:17 assures us, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles."* You are not forgotten.
At the same time, we encourage you to examine whether there are boundaries or steps you can take to ensure you are not left vulnerable to unreliability. Proverbs 14:15 tells us, *"A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways."* While we must trust others to some degree, wisdom calls us to seek confirmation, follow up, and, when possible, rely on those who have proven themselves trustworthy over time. If this is a recurring issue, ask the Lord to guide you to godly counsel or resources that can provide the stability you need.
We notice that you ended your prayer with *"amen,"* but we want to gently remind you of the power and necessity of praying *in the name of Jesus*. It is through His name—and His name alone—that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* When we pray in Jesus’ name, we acknowledge His authority, His sacrifice for our sins, and our dependence on Him as our Mediator. If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Him alone (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other way to the Father but through Christ (John 14:6).
Now, let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, knowing that You are a God of truth and faithfulness. Lord, You see the frustration and urgency in their heart, and we ask that You would intervene in this situation. Father, expose every lie and every deceitful intention. Bring forth people of integrity who will act with sincerity and follow through on their commitments. Protect them from further disappointment and delay, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We rebuke the spirit of deceit and unreliability in the name of Jesus. No weapon formed against Your child shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, if there are steps they need to take—whether in wisdom, discernment, or seeking alternative help—reveal it to them clearly. Give them patience to wait on You and the courage to act when You lead.
Most of all, Father, we pray that they would rest in the assurance that You are their Provider and Protector. Remind them that You are working all things together for their good, even when it feels like the world is against them (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, and let them experience Your faithfulness in a tangible way.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
