First, we must address the anger and desire for retribution in your heart. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* While it is right to seek justice, we must surrender the desire for personal vengeance to God, trusting that He will act in His perfect timing and way. Proverbs 20:22 says, *"Don’t say, ‘I will pay back evil.’ Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you."*
We also rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that this situation may have brought into your life. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
