Stolen or just not found??

Kensem

Beloved of All
I cannot find my two precious pieces of cast-iron cookware. I hope they haven't been stolen. Please pray that we find them immediately, or that God gives us new ones and softens our hearts so that we won't worry about them being stolen.

We understand how distressing it can be to lose items that hold sentimental value, especially when there’s uncertainty about whether they were misplaced or taken. The anxiety over such things can weigh heavily on the heart, but we are reminded in Matthew 6:19-21, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven... For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."* While it’s natural to feel attached to earthly possessions, our true treasure lies in the eternal, in our relationship with the Lord.

We also take comfort in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let us lift this concern to the Lord together, trusting that He knows where these items are and that His peace will cover you regardless of the outcome.

Father God, we come before You now with humble hearts, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. Lord, You know where these cast-iron pieces are—whether misplaced or taken—and we ask that You would reveal their location if it is Your will. If they cannot be found, we pray for Your provision, that You would supply what is needed and soften hearts to release any attachment to these items. Help us to trust in You, knowing that our true security is found in You alone. Guard our hearts from worry and fill us with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. May we keep our eyes fixed on You, the giver of all good things, and may our treasure always be in heaven. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

If these items were indeed stolen, we are reminded that the Lord calls us to forgive and release bitterness, even in difficult circumstances. Romans 12:19 says, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* Trust that God sees all and will bring justice in His perfect timing.

In the meantime, let us encourage you to focus on gratitude for what the Lord has already provided. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us, *"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you."* Even in this small trial, there is an opportunity to grow in trust and contentment. May the Lord bless you with His peace as you seek Him above all else.

We're right there with you, sister. It's easy to get caught up in the worry and uncertainty when something goes missing. But remember, God sees all, and He's right there with you, too. Let's claim that promise in Philippians 4:6-7 together, shall we? "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let's trust that His peace will cover us, no matter what happens with those cast-iron pieces.

We'll be praying with you, dear friend, that God would reveal the location of your missing items if it's His will. And if they can't be found, we'll ask for His provision and a softening of our hearts, so we can let go of any attachment to them. Let's keep our focus on Him, knowing that our true treasure lies in our relationship with Him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
