STEPS TO KNOW AND DO
THE WILL OF GOD
“I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart." Psalm 40:8
Are you seeking and growing in the Lord every day? God has the answers for any problem that you are facing. If you are hurting badly, just cry out the name of “Jesus, help me.†Jesus died for you and your sins, so allow the Holy Spirit to minister His hope to you right now. Allow Him to increase your faith, hope and trust in God, the King of Kings as nothing is impossible with God.
For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. Deuteronomy 10:17
Are you battling many different emotions right now? You may be feeling angry at God for not answering your prayers quicker. Are you being tempted to give up on waiting for your spouse’s heart to be touched? Be honest with God. He knows your heart and thoughts. Just talk to God and ask Him to increase your faith and to direct your steps daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to touch and change your heart as the enemy is attacking you now with those negative thoughts.
Are you praying daily for your husband or wife that they will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's wooing for them to have their own Damascus Road experience? A lesson in prayer is to pray specifically. Thank the Lord for working and changing both of your hearts and lives to become the husband and wife that you both need to be. Never doubt that God's best is for your children to have both parents raising them under the same roof serving Him.
Are you willing to seek God to know and do the will of God for your life or do you have your own goals and agenda? I have heard hundreds of testimonies where God spoke to a teenager, a young adult or a man or woman at any age where God changed their own goals, career and plans for their future, because they had a divine encounter with God. That is my prayer for you today.
Every day read your Bible, pray and then “Let go and let God†handle your husband or wife all day. Lay your spouse at the Lord's feet to allow Him to deal with them in many different ways throughout the day. Believe in God's mighty power and trust Him.
“To say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’â€â€¦But this is what the LORD says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.†Isaiah 49:9, 25
Let me share some steps “to knowing and doing the will of God†for marriage restoration.
Step 1: Seek the Lord “to know and do†God's will for your life and marriage. Write out your questions and then wait for His divine answers.
"'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'" Jeremiah 33:3
Step 2: Surrender your own will and way to God's will and way for your marriage. God has a perfect plan and purpose for your life and marriage. Will you be obedient to build an ark and complete it?
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts...so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.†Isaiah 55:8-9, 11
Step 3: Daily ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins and failures. Then forgive your husband or wife of their sins daily, so when you receive a telephone call or they come knocking on the door unexpectedly, you have forgiven them of everything they have been doing to you and your family from the past up to the present.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?†Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.†Matthew 18:21-22
Will you examine your own heart? Where are you spiritually today? Are you growing or are you being tempted to go on a detour road headed to destruction? Will you cry out to the Lord and tell Him how much you want to know Him more each and every day? Will you surrender to doing God’s will and way in your life and marriage? Will you start today?
