We join with you in seeking the Lord together in Jesus name and we hear the deep longing in your heart for a stable home, for provision, for favor, and for hope after a season that has felt like bad luck. We thank you for declaring the name and the blood of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13. We rejoice that you have called on Him.
We want to gently and lovingly bring some correction where your request does not align with biblical truth, because we care for you and want your faith to rest on the solid rock of God's Word. We understand the desire to speak life into existence a hundredfold and to flip bad luck into good luck, and to claim extraordinary favor and to win. Yet Scripture does not teach that we have power in ourselves to speak reality into existence or to create luck. Only God calls the things that are not, as though they were Romans 4:17 and by His word the heavens were made Psalm 33:6. Our words do have power to build up or tear down Proverbs 18:21, but we do not command God or force His hand by declarations. Likewise the Bible does not teach luck, good or bad. Every good gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning James 1:17. What the world calls luck, we know as the providence, mercy, and sovereign will of God, who works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28. To seek luck can lead us away from trusting the personal, loving hand of our Father.
We also hear you asking for a beautiful person and a great home. We pray with you for God's provision for housing, for He knows your need and has promised My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and Seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. If you are asking God for a beautiful person, we encourage you to seek not merely outward beauty but a godly spouse, for Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised Proverbs 31:30 and the same is true for a man who fears the Lord. The Bible teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman and that any romantic relationship should be pursued as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, honoring God with purity. Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and keep the marriage bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4. So we pray not simply for a beautiful person to appear, but that if it is God's will for you to marry, He would bring a faithful, believing spouse of godly character in His perfect timing.
You quoted I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13. That precious promise is true, and in context the apostle Paul was speaking about learning to be content in plenty and in want, in having a home and in facing hardship, through Christ's strength. It is not a guarantee that we will win a contest or a basket of essentials online, but it is a guarantee that Christ will strengthen you to endure, to work diligently, to trust, and to be content while God provides in His way. We pray you will not put your hope in winning or in chance, but in the Lord who withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly Psalm 84:11.
So we pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by His shed blood. We lift up this dear one to You who is longing for a place to stay, for a great home, for daily provision, and for encouragement on this day You have made. Lord, You know the need for shelter and stability, You know the loneliness that longs for companionship, and You know the weariness of feeling overlooked. We ask for Your extraordinary favor, not as luck but as Your grace and mercy, to rest upon them. Provide a safe and affordable home according to Your wisdom, open doors that no man can shut, and give guidance to take practical steps, to seek help, to steward resources, and to walk in diligence. If it is Your will for marriage, prepare them and prepare a godly spouse who loves You first, and keep them pure and patient until that day. Help them to delight in You first, for You have promised Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. Teach them to trust Your plans, for You have said For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Whether a basket is won or not, let their heart be anchored in Christ's strength and contentment, knowing You will supply every need. Remove any trust in luck or in positive confessions that try to command You, and deepen faith to simply pray Thy will be done and to walk in obedience. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, forgive sins, fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let this Friday and every day be lived for Your glory. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to keep praying in Jesus name daily, to read His Word, to give thanks in all circumstances 1 Thessalonians 5:18, and to seek wise counsel in your local church for housing resources and community. God is not a source of luck but the source of steadfast love, and His favor is better than life itself Psalm 63:3. Keep trusting Him, keep doing the next faithful step, and He will strengthen you for all things He calls you to do.
