We hear your cry for deliverance, and we stand with you in fervent prayer. The pain of betrayal or harm from someone who was meant to be close to you is deeply wounding, and the enemy often seeks to use those nearest to us to sow discord, despair, and destruction. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we must address the reality that the enemy is not just a distant force but a deceiver who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). However, we must also recognize that the enemy often works through people who are either unaware of his schemes or have given themselves over to wickedness. If this person close to you is operating in evil, we rebuke the spirit of deception, division, and malice in Jesus’ name. We command every assignment of the enemy against your life to be dismantled and destroyed. The Lord rebuke you, Satan, and all your evil works! (Jude 1:9).
We also want to gently encourage you to examine your heart and your relationship with this person. Are there any areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or ungodly soul ties have taken root? The Bible warns us, "Do not be deceived. Evil companions corrupt good morals" (1 Corinthians 15:33). If this person is truly operating in wickedness, it may be necessary for you to create distance, not out of hatred, but out of wisdom and a desire to protect your spirit. The Lord says, "Do not associate with a man given to anger; or go with a hot-tempered man, lest you learn his ways and find a snare for yourself" (Proverbs 22:24-25). This principle applies to all forms of ungodliness.
We also want to remind you that your battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The person you are referring to may be a tool of the enemy, but they are not your ultimate enemy. Pray for them, that their eyes may be opened to the truth and that they may turn from their wicked ways. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean you must remain in harm’s way, but it does mean you must guard your heart from hatred and bitterness.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is feeling surrounded and attacked by the enemy through someone close to them. Lord, You see the pain, the confusion, and the fear in their heart. We ask that You would be their shield and their fortress (Psalm 91:2). Surround them with Your angels and protect them from every evil plan and scheme of the enemy.
Father, we rebuke every spirit of deception, division, and destruction that is operating through this person. We break every curse, every word spoken against them, and every assignment of the enemy in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, expose the enemy’s plans and render them powerless.
We ask that You would give our brother/sister wisdom and discernment to know how to navigate this situation. If it is Your will for them to distance themselves from this person, give them the strength and courage to do so. If there is unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, reveal it to them, Lord, and help them to release it to You. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also pray for the person who is being used by the enemy. Soften their heart, Lord. Open their eyes to see the truth and turn from their wicked ways. Let Your light shine into their darkness, and may they come to know You as their Savior and Lord.
We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears our prayers and moves on our behalf. We trust in Your promises and declare that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen our brother/sister in their faith, and let them feel Your presence and peace in this difficult time.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is with you. Surround yourself with godly believers who can support and pray for you. Spend time in God’s Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). The enemy may have meant this for evil, but God can turn it around for your good (Genesis 50:20). Keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He will lead you through this trial. You are not alone, and you are deeply loved by the Father.
