hey standers,
Today I read a question from another person standing for their marriage. That question was; "how long is this going to take"?
I know this is a question that I have asked and I'm sure most of you have also. I wish I knew the answer but I don't. But what I do think is that one of the reasons it may be taking so long for some is because God is waiting on us to totally submit to him. He wants us to put our total faith in him for the restoration of our marriages and for every aspect of our lives. He wants us to have as much faith in him during the dark times as we would if our spouses were about to walk through our doors right now.
If God were to tell people that their marriages would be separated for exactly 3 months and your spouse would be returning on a Tuesday at 6 pm I dare say that most people, including myself, sadly would not have felt the overwhelming urge to pray, seek the Lords face, and cry out to him with such passion as we do when we have to pray and rely totally on faith without any date of restoration etched in stone. We need to have that passionate urge at all time though. We need to have that urge to serve our Lord now and after restoration.
God wants it that way. We wants us to be completely dependent on him like a new born baby. He wants us to be totally helpless and to trust in him to be our caregiver and healer in all areas of life. As hard as it may be we must all try not to focus on the when and the how and put that focus on the healer himself.
When your spouse comes home, and God is bringing them home, we must all remember to worship him and praise him with just as much passion as we do now. Our God is a jealous God. Have faith in him at all times.
