We join with you in praising God for the beautiful order and wisdom Jesus gave us in what we call the Lord's Prayer, and we thank you for highlighting how it teaches us to seek first the Father and His glory before bringing our own needs to Him.

You have captured the heart of it so well. Jesus said, Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matt 6:9-10. We love that you point out this first half is entirely God centered, His name hallowed, His Kingdom coming, His will being done. It mirrors what Jesus also taught us in Matt 6:33, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. When we put fellowship with the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit first, when His honor and His reign and His purposes are our highest desire, then everything else finds its proper place.

And then, as you noted, Jesus tenderly invites us to bring our daily needs, Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matt 6:11-13. How gracious that our Father who reigns in heaven cares about our provision, our relationships, and our protection. We are reminded that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9, and that we are called to forgive even as God in Christ forgave us. Eph 4:32. To pray forgive us as we forgive others keeps our hearts humble and tender toward others. And to pray lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil acknowledges our daily need for His keeping power, for He is able to guard us from stumbling. Jude 1:24.

We also cherish that you close this prayer in Jesus' name, for we have confidence that whatever we ask in His name according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6, and it is only through Him that we can boldly call God Our Father.

We pray together with you now.

Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We worship You and thank You for adopting us as Your children through Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask that Your name be honored in our lives, in our homes, and in this world. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in us and through us on earth as it is in heaven. Help us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness each day, trusting You to add all that we need.

Father, give us today our daily bread, all the provision we need for body and soul, and help us to trust You as our provider. Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Search our hearts and soften them where we have held onto bitterness, and teach us to extend the same mercy we have received. Lead us away from temptation and deliver us from the evil one. Keep our feet from sin and guard us by Your Holy Spirit. For Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the power, and Yours is the glory forever. We ask all this in the precious and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We are grateful you took time to share this thanksgiving with us. Your desire to put the Father's honor, His kingdom and His will first, and then bring your daily needs to Him, is a beautiful reflection of trust. We hear how much His fellowship means to you.

It is easy for needs and worries to take the lead, and we appreciate how you are intentionally turning that around, letting worship and surrender set the tone before asking for provision, forgiveness, and protection from evil. That ordering gently reminds our own hearts who holds our days.

If it is helpful, you might keep using the pattern you described as a quiet daily anchor. Many find it meaningful to linger on just one line in the morning, like His kingdom coming or daily bread, and return to the next line in the evening, letting it shape honest conversation with the Father rather than rushing through.

We thank God with you for His faithful care and for the way He invites us to come as His children.

Father, thank You for being our Father in heaven and for drawing us into fellowship through Your Son. We hallow Your name and ask for Your kingdom and will to be done in our lives today. There is wisdom and grace in ordering your prayer as our Lord himself taught, to seek first the Father, His name hallowed, His kingdom come, His will done on earth as it is in heaven, and then to bring your own need before His throne.

This is the comfortable conviction of all God's people, that all things work together for good to them that love God, and that God ruleth and overruleth and reigneth in all events that transpire, from seeming evil still producing good. The whole scheme of salvation hinges and turns upon the absolute will of God, and yet the work of the Spirit is to change the human will and so make men willing in the day of God's power, so that the will cheerfully bows that neck which once was stiff as iron and wears His yoke gladly. You do well therefore to pray, Your will be done, for God sees the end from the beginning, and when the great drama of time shall be complete, then will the splendor as well as the goodness of the Lord be seen. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains.

And having sought first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, you may then ask with childlike confidence for all other things to be added to you. Blessed be the Lord who daily loadeth us with benefits. You have been as one who sits daily at the King's table, a commoner upon the goodness of God, and He will not fail to give you your daily bread. Live only a day at a time and pray, keep me, guide me, hold me, Lord, just for today. The one occupation of a Christian is to praise his God in life and in death, for He that is our God is the God of our salvation.

You pray also for forgiveness and for protection, and here is the heart of the gospel. The reason for our deliverance is an argument of love, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. If any say, I have sinned and perverted that which was right and it profited me not, He will deliver his soul from going into the pit and his life shall see the light. Look to Jesus and simply trust Him, for there is salvation in no other. Through His blood we are washed from our sins, and being forgiven, we are taught to forgive even as we have been forgiven.

And our Lord prays not only keep them from the evil, which is a negative blessing of preservation, but sanctify them, which is a positive holiness. He would have us separated from the world and from the hardness and carnality of nature, and made to belong wholly to God. So we pray, lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, asking that we may be kept from sin and made more holy, never satisfied till we are conformed to Christ, yet pressing toward that mark by His grace.

May the Lord hear this prayer after His own manner and make His will your joy, His provision your sufficiency, His forgiveness your peace, and His keeping your holiness, for His is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
