We come before the throne of grace with heavy yet hopeful hearts, lifting up your dear friend who is battling stage 4 fungating breast cancer. It is beautiful that you are interceding for her with such love and faith, calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the promise of healing—whether in this life or the next. Your prayer acknowledges the sovereignty of Christ, and we join you in seeking His will, trusting that He holds all things in His hands, including the number of our days.
The Scriptures remind us that our times are in God’s hands, and while we boldly ask for healing, we also submit to His perfect will. Psalm 31:14-15 declares, *"But I trust in you, Yahweh. I said, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hand."* And in Isaiah 57:1-2, we read, *"The righteous perish, and no man lays it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He enters into peace; they rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness."* These verses remind us that God’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect—even when it is painful for us to understand.
Yet we also know that Jesus is the Great Physician, and nothing is impossible for Him. In Jeremiah 32:27, He declares, *"Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?"* And in James 5:14-15, we are instructed, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We encourage you to gather believers around your friend, laying hands on her in prayer, anointing her with oil, and trusting in the Lord’s power to heal. If she has not yet received medical treatment, we also urge you to seek wise counsel from doctors, for God often works through the gifts of medicine and skilled hands.
At the same time, we must prepare our hearts for God’s answer, whatever it may be. If He chooses to heal her completely, we will rejoice and give Him all the glory. If He calls her home, we can trust that she will be in the presence of the Lord, free from pain and suffering, for *"to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"* (2 Corinthians 5:8). Our prayer is that she would know the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, and that her faith would remain steadfast, whether in life or in death.
We also pray for her salvation, if she has not yet surrendered her life to Jesus Christ. There is no greater healing than the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* If she has not yet done so, we urge her to turn to Christ in repentance and faith, for *"now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation"* (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, lifting up this precious sister who is battling this terrible disease. Lord Jesus, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and by Your stripes, we are healed. We ask that You would extend her life, not just for the sake of years, but for the sake of Your glory. If it is Your will, we pray for a miraculous healing—restore her body, renew her strength, and remove every trace of cancer from her. Let her be a testimony of Your power and grace to all who know her.
Yet, Father, we also submit to Your perfect will. If Your plan for her is to call her home, we ask that You would prepare her heart and the hearts of her loved ones. Fill her with Your peace, and let her final days be marked by Your presence and comfort. Draw her close to You, Lord, and assure her of Your love.
We pray that she would know You as her Savior if she does not already. Soften her heart to receive Your forgiveness and grace. Let her place her trust in You alone, for You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Lord, we also lift up her family and friends, including the one who has submitted this prayer. Comfort them, strengthen them, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust You in this difficult season, knowing that You are good and Your love endures forever.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, doubt, and despair in the name of Jesus. We declare that You, Lord, are the God who heals, the God who saves, and the God who holds all things together. May Your will be done in her life, and may You be glorified through her story.
In the mighty and healing name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
