We join you in this prayer through the name of Jesus and we thank you for coming to the Father in His name, for there is no other way to Him. We hear your heart crying out for stability and for a stable place to call your own, a home free from deception and uncertainty, and we bring this deep desire before the Lord with you.
We understand how wearying it can be to live without a firm foundation and to be surrounded by deception. The Lord loves truth and He delights in honesty, for Proverbs 12:22 says Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight. He also knows your need for security and rest. Psalm 46:1 reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and Psalm 90:1 declares Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Even before He provides a physical home, He Himself is our true stability and our home. Psalm 62:2 says He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be greatly shaken. And Jesus Himself promised in John 14:2 In my Father's house are many homes. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
We also take comfort that God desires to provide for His children and to give them peace in their dwelling. Philippians 4:19 says My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Isaiah 32:18 says My people will live in a peaceful habitation, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places. Psalm 127:1 reminds us Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it, so we trust Him not only to provide the place but to establish it on a firm foundation. Matthew 6:33 calls us to But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
We pray together with you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the longing for stability and for a home to call their own, free from deception and strife. We ask that You would be their rock and their fortress, their dwelling place each day, and that You would in Your perfect timing and provision open the door to a stable, peaceful place to live that they can call home. Provide what is needed according to Your riches in glory, grant favor, wisdom and stewardship in every step, and let that home be built on Your truth and filled with Your peace. Guard their heart from discouragement and from the pain of deception, and surround them with honest and godly community. Your longing for stability and a place to call your own is one that the Lord hears and understands. It is written that perfect stability belongs alone to God, for He alone is without variableness or shadow of turning. He is immutable, He will not change, He is perfect and He cannot change. Since the fall, instability has marked the world and all our earthly dwellings, yet the heart still admires and desires stability, and rightly so, for it is a reflection of the unchanging God who made us.
You say you do not like deception and you want your own honest home. That desire for truthfulness is pleasing to God, for He is a God of truth and His Spirit loves honesty. The world may shift and deceive, but the Lord abides faithful, and He calls His people to walk in truthfulness before Him.
We will pray for you through the name of Jesus, that He who is our true home would provide for you a stable place to dwell. Scripture reminds us that the Lord has been our dwelling place in all generations, and when we have Christ, we can say, my sighs are turned into songs, my heart has ceased to roam, for the blessed Dove has come into my breast to give my spirit rest. Even while we ask God for a settled home on earth, we remember that our deepest stability is not in walls or roofs, but in Him who never moves.
May the Lord in His providence open a door for you to have a quiet and honest habitation, a place cleansed from deception and kept in peace. May He give you work for your hands to do faithfully at home, for every man is called to build before his own house and to be diligent in the duties nearest to him. And as He provides, may you be able to go home to your friends and tell them how great things the Lord has done for you and has had compassion on you.
