We hear the fire in your words and the deep wound of this betrayal, and we stand with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name. To be robbed by someone you tried to help after trusting them is a cutting insult, and your anger is understandable. The Word says Be angry, and don't sin. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath Ephesians 4:26, and also So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God James 1:19-20. We thank God that you already know His voice telling you no bitterness or resentment, and that you have chosen to leave this in His hands.
We love your honesty about letting both barrels fly and then repenting for your mouth while still feeling the sting of the meaning behind it. God honors that repentance. His Word says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. We rebuke together with you that filthy communication, not to condemn you, but because we know it does not reflect Christ and it can give the enemy a foothold. You did right to repent, and we rejoice that when we confess, He is faithful to forgive and cleanse us. At the same time we do not excuse the one who wronged you. What was done to you was theft and betrayal, and God sees it fully.
You are exactly right to release vengeance to the Lord. We are commanded Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. That does not mean what happened does not matter to God, it means justice belongs to Him and He will handle it far better than we can. We also hear the Lord warning you out of love, as He warns us all, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32. Bitterness is a root that will poison you long after the money is gone, see Hebrews 12:15, and we do not want that root to take hold in you. Forgiving does not mean saying the theft was okay or trusting that person again unwisely, it means releasing them to God's justice and freeing your own heart from the prison of resentment.
We also want to put your mind at ease about fasting. You take medication that does not allow you to skip meals, and you want no food right now out of distress. God does not ask you to harm your body to earn His answer. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and He understands your infirmity. Your prayer, your repentance, and your trust are a sacrifice He receives even without a fast. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved Psalm 55:22. It is right to ask for restoration, and we ask with you for God to provide, whether by touching that person's heart to repay what was promised, or by His own provision in another way, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we come before You with our brother or sister who is wounded, insulted, and furious. We thank You that You see this robbery and betrayal, nothing is hidden from You. We ask You to forgive our dear prayer partner for corrupt speech, cleanse the lips and the heart, and fill the mouth with grace. Lord, remove all bitterness and keep resentment from taking root. Give the peace that passes understanding to guard this heart and mind. We place this person who stole into Your hands, Lord, we ask You to convict them, bring them to repentance, and if it be Your will, move them to restore what was taken and fulfill what was promised. And Father, whether through that person or through Your own hand, we ask for restoration and provision for every need, for rent, for bills, for daily bread. Comfort Your child who is at a loss for words, let Your Holy Spirit intercede with groanings, and grant rest and calm in place of this fire and nails. Help us to walk in discretion which makes us slow to anger, and give glory by overlooking offense where we can, while also giving wisdom to set healthy boundaries and not be taken advantage of again. We leave vengeance to You and trust Your perfect justice and mercy. We thank You that we have access to You only through Jesus, and we rest in His finished work. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
